I had a lot to do today, so I figured I would hit the water and take minimal tackle with me. I loaded the yak (obviously), paddle, PFD, 1 bag of soft plastics, 3 hooks, and a 6 pound test line spinning outfit, and I hit the water just before first light. It was a slow going with the "Wacky Rig", but eventually the first fish hit in one of my usual spots:

The second fish was a Gar, but luckily, the toothy wretched fell off before I had to remove him. A few casts later, another dink Bass takes the bait:

I relocated to another area with a large amount of lilly pads, and a few more fish took the hook:

This little guy was my second favorite fish as his spunky little attitude had him hitting my worm just as I was going to lift it up out of the water for another cast:

Now, what happened next made my day. There was a small patch of lilly pads that was away from the main field, and something was moving under it. I paddled my yak to get an accurate cast, and within a second or two or the worm hitting the water, the line takes off, and the fight was on. I knew it was a good fish, but when the first surface head shake occurred, my hands began to shake, and my heart began to race. The fish was big and fought hard. She made two runs under the yak, but she succumbed to my will, and she was landed. She is the biggest Bass I have ever caught in a kayak. Here she is:

Not too bad for a few hours of fishing before the I had to start the "Honey Do" list! :D

Nice catch snook.

I fished out at Loxahatchee today and did not fare as well as you... 4 dinks, and big mud fish and a gar. I might have to start beating some of the banks here around town. Kayaking looks like a lot of fun.
