bocabasser Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 fished from sun up til 3:30. took 2 of my saltwater friends who have never been to the lake. put in at slims and went to pelican. the water was dirty (dirtier than it has been)and we caught small fish with a 3 pounder being the biggest. i was becoming worried because i had bragged to these guys that right now the lake is producing giant fish and here we were catching 2-3 pounders. stayed there until 11 and decided to go to ritta. the wind was starting blow pretty good and it was not as clean as it has been. throwing a big ez i had a huge wake follow and i swung too early. told one of my friends to throw back there and a giant engulfed his dipper. easily 6+ dish. these guys insisted on throwing their spin gear. fish took him to the weeds and she came unbuttoned. 10 minutes later my other friend has a giant on a horny toad. nice 5.15. his biggest bass ever. decided to pitch a jig and caught 4 fish over 5 pounds, with this 7 pounder being biggest. had easly 25+ pounds. the lake is still on fire! i love living in south florida. holiday park on friday.
