s13john Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 s13John, Yes, any place where we need a boat would be cool to fish but we have guys who don't have boats nor have ever fished out of a bass boat which would pose a big problem. In addition, we need one boat for every two guys which magnifies the problem. So if we meet at Innsbrook we can see who we want to take out on our boats and plan for a private tournament on a local river or lake when the lake water levels improve. What do you think? sounds good to me Quote
CarringtonM Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 innsbrook is a good pond since not everyone has a boat as sam stated and even begginers at fishing that want to come can have success there because its easy to catch fish the harder part is to catch the ones 3.5+lbs there i have been fishing there around 40ish times always caught atleast 2 and about 6-7 of them were over 3.5lbs Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I have fished only 1 of the innsbrook ponds on cox rd bc i used to work in those buildings that backed up to lake. I remember reading signs sayins you must work or be affiliated with the buildings at innbrook in order to fish but then again that was over 5yrs ago. Just wondering if anyone from the offices or that manages innsbrook area will say anything to us being that we will have a large group of people fishing at the same time?? would hate to get ran off... Super User Sam Posted August 5, 2010 Super User Posted August 5, 2010 Probably not. I am one of the Community Group consultants (their office is on the lake) and I don't think we will have any problems. Quote

VAfishin Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I pulled a couple 4 pounders out of there in the spring time, but nothing like that since it's gotten hot. I still haven't figured out a good pattern in this summer heat Quote

Brian4618 Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 22nd at innsbrook works for me Works for me as well, I agree with heading to Innsbrook for shorefishing instead of a large body of water/ Quote
Bigs Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I wll try to make it if innsbrook is the spot, my bassboat is down for a few weeks so I cannot fish lake anna or any other big body of water till my neighbor rebuilds my carbs > Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I've been out to Lake Rooty in Innsbrook last Sunday and Monday. It's the one located on the corner of Cox and Nuckols. I caught a nice limit of LMB; most being around 3+lbs. I focused on the aquactic plants in the pond. I planned to go back out this evening and Sunday morning. Quote
Syppy Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Anyone have an address I can plug into the GPS to get there? Tried looking up Innsbrook on Google, and it didn't really show me a body of water. Gonna try to make it, but I've gotta work that night, so I don't know how long I can stay. Quote

VAfishin Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 what's been working for you all at innsbrook? I've been hitting them with shallow crank baits, but I'm looking to try something else. Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Primarily I use a chartreuse/white spinner with tandem blades; preferably a copper willow blades. Or a senko rigged wacky style or texas. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 kaotic1, ever try a Chatterbait? Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Not there' but I'll take one out this evening and see what it produces. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 Super. Please let us know if it is productive. Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Not to productive on lake rooty this evening, it seem most of the fish was holding in deeper water. There was patches of algae in certain areas; that wasn't there last week. The heat played a major factor too; try again another day. Quote
cmatthews6485 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 is it still going on this sunday and if so what time and did you guys all want to meet at the market cafe/gas station right on the corner of nuckols and cox or what we should probally start planning this out Quote
racer894 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I unfortunately asked off from work 8/20 to 8/22 for this meet and greet and some other reasons, and my work was kind enough to schedule me from 4pm-9:30pm fri, 8am-9:30pm sat, 11am-7:30pm sun, and 9am-2pm mon. Screw retail. I want to find a real job. I just graduated in May with a Bachelors and its hard. I will be having a talk with them about my schedule tonight when I go in. my previous supervisor approved it, then he left and the new one denied me... > Quote
