ralph macchio Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi, A friend of mine and I are trying to figure out a way to fish the warm, private side of Lake Anna. I understand the three lagoons where the power plant water is discharged are supposedly not open to the public. However, the idea of a great bass day in the middle of winter is enticing. Can anyone help with info about how I would go about fishing in the warm side of Lake Anna? I unfortunately do not have a boat. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted December 29, 2010 Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Lets see , you want info on how to sneak into an off-limits area to fish from the bank ? Is this correct ? Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 i think to fish the warm side is one of those deals where you have to know someone that knows someone kinda thing ,that has permission to fish that side. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 30, 2010 Super User Posted December 30, 2010 Ralph, it is called the Hot Side. I will send you a PM. Happy New Year! Quote
ralph macchio Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 Sam, Got your PM but apparently I can't reply until I post 10 times in the forum! I'm going to have to spend a little time on the forum, it seems, then I'll get back to you! Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 31, 2010 Super User Posted December 31, 2010 OK. Do what Bass Brat does and post in the Introductions area until you get to 10. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted December 31, 2010 Super User Posted December 31, 2010 OK. Do what Bass Brat does and post in the Introductions area until you get to 10. :D Wow Sam I didn't know you had a mean side. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 1, 2011 Super User Posted January 1, 2011 Sorry Grey Wolf, but by going to the Introductions you can get up to 10 posts really fast and you always welcome the guys so I thought about having Ralph do it, too. Happy New Year!!!! Quote
Hellbenderman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 hmmmmm....so you want to sneak into a closed area next to a nuclear reactor where they have installed a hundred cameras so they can catch "whoevers" sneaking up on the reactor? Every time I go past that reactor it gives me the chills knowing they are watching me, have my description, and boat info. So, go ahead....maybe we'll read about it in the papers! Seriously, you have to be a guest of someone who lives on the hot side. Quote
VolFan Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 If i can still read...and i du have a Tennessee edukation...I don't think he said anything about sneaking in. There are members on here with legal access. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 Hey Hellbender, if you get close enough you can see the guards looking at you. They don't smile and they have really big guns. Quote
Green Hornet Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Since you don't have a boat, have you thought about fishing the public side near the warm water discharge at dike3? Quote
Alex 703 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 ot: any other area in Virginia where lakes or pond not frozen over. I been waiting to try out this new gear Quote
BobP Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 There's a highway bridge where the hot side becomes the cold side and it has considerable flow under it. There's a public parking area adjacent to the bridge for fishermen. Bring a cast net, get some of the millions of shad that swim at the bridge, then use them to catch some of those frisky Lake Anna striped bass. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 9, 2011 Super User Posted January 9, 2011 You and your friend can try to get a job at the power plant. Employees can fish on the plant property. They have a playground, picnic area, and beach area on the property for the cold side. Quote
