bocabasser Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 decided not to put the boat in at lox because of the cold and wind. headed out west to one of my land spots and wacked 'em. got my biggest fish on a scrounger to date. caught about 30 fish, and a real nice one that was every bit over 6 pounds. don't know how big but i would say between 7 and 8 pounds. all fish were caught on a scrounger. Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 26, 2010 Super User Posted December 26, 2010 Hell of a fish Bruce. Way to get em. Sure wish I was out today. I walked outside, saw the wind and said screw it. I went shopping instead. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted December 26, 2010 Super User Posted December 26, 2010 I went shopping instead. Please tell me it was something manly! Nice fishing trip Bruce, would be surprised that they were hitting today, but sounds like you got the spots Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 27, 2010 Super User Posted December 27, 2010 I went shopping instead. Please tell me it was something manly! Spent a few Christmas bucks on a pair of new reels. My Man card hasn't been pulled quite yet. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 27, 2010 Super User Posted December 27, 2010 You guys are lucky. I walked outside into five inches of snow!!!! Keep those reports and pictures coming. Happy New Year! Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 27, 2010 Super User Posted December 27, 2010 Hit the ICW at around 6:15 Sunday morning, wasn't too bad at all then, windy but I fished the west side so I had the wind at my back. Quote

Congrats on the fish. I'm jealous of your weather. What size scrounger and what kind of trailer do you use. Quote

You're a smarter man than me. I went to lox yesterday..pretty much a waste of time. Didn't catch a fish until about noon. Found a nice little pod of fish and caught about eight fish, from noon til 1. Those fish turned off and so did I. The wind/cold did not make fishing very enjoyable....a constant 25mph. Quote
Fishing Cowgirl Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Nice fish! Now I REALLY can't wait to use that Scrounger you gave me. It'll get put to use on Sunday in our couples tournament on Lake Conway. Quote
Fishing Cowgirl Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 boca basser. I put the scrounger to use on our couples tournament on Lake Conway. I am the Pickerel Queen! LOL. Oh well, they did keep getting bigger in size and I was getting bit, which is better than no bites at all. We ended up 2nd place on a tough fishing day, all the couples (but one), managed to boat two fish. We got lucky and had some bass pop up behind us busting on some bait, then they were gone in a flash. However the scrounger will get a bass and I'll be sure to post a photo of it. Quote
bocabasser Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 keep pluggin cowgirl. one thing i have found with the scrounger, is that it is a hit or miss bait. either they inhale it or they want nothing to do with it. i went back to that same lake and caught zero fish on a scrounger. they wanted a fluke instead. good luck.
