Yeah, it was a killer evening. Beautiful night for fishing. Fished from about 2:00-6:00. Caught ~15, with a couple nice 2-3lb chunks and one more good one.

This one weighed 6.17.

Wow, you did good.  I wish I hadn't taken a nap :(.  Perhaps I'll get out there tomorrow morning or afternoon.

Yeesh, Mike.  You've been stroking them lately.  Looks like all the big girls are coming out to play.

Thanks guys.

Captain Shane, good talking to you too. Notice I'm smiling in this picture?  ;)  (NOTE: Captain recommends I smile more when holding 5lbers). BTW, I went back to BPS today and picked up that Veritas. I don't have the will power I thought I had...

Nice fish Mike. the afternoon bite is where it is at apparently. I was there saturday morning and the water temp was 65 in the morning. Caught a mess of little fish straight off. Bite got better and better as the day progressed. Was up to 69 when i left and started to seeing good fish busting. Started catching them ripping a trap and then caught a good one on top at like noon and missed another. I ran from Southern and was on the flats way on the west end. Caught 20 maybe but most were small. Great day and the power pole got used a lot in that wind.

Nice report Dale.  yeah, the afternoon has been better (for me, anyway)

Anyone been out there lately? I haven't been in the boat in nine days. It's killing me...my last four trips to Lox I've got 5 bass over 5lbs...

I've been working silly hours (past midnight every night and weekends) preparing to release my new project tomorrow. Afterwards, I'm taking a long, much needed chunk of time off...anyone planning on heading out there, let's hook up.

How are the water levels on the flats?

How are the water levels on the flats?

Robert, water levels seem to be pretty stable over the past month...fairly high. I went to Lox Saturday afternoon...I broke my streak of big fish, but caught a ton of decent 2-3 lbers.

Water temp is a little high right now...74. When the temp gets back down below 70, I think the big ones will get going again.

When do you want to go this week?  Or after the COLD breaks, or should I say cooler trend... :P

I'm thinking later in the week (Friday?), maybe get a little more stable weather.

I need to be careful to watch what I wish for from now on.  I was hoping the water would cool down...maybe get in the high 60s so my pre-spawn spots would turn back on. Never saw the sixties though...we went straight from mid 70s to mid 50s in a few days. Continue past "GO" do not collect $200.  lol

Wait a second, Mike.  So you're saying that I can blame you for this cold weather?

d**n you!  I'm freezing my butt off right now.  Actually had to turn the heater on.
