bocabasser Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 fished the lake yesterday out of belle glade. stayed south the entire day. did not see many boats from the giblets and gravy event, they were probably north. we caught well over 50 fish, with two 4 pounders and a 3.5. lots of smal fish. most fish came on dippers and flukes, but the bigger ones were caught on horny's. fished from sun up til 1:30. fun day on the lake. lake is at 13.0 and getting lower. we missed a bunch of big fish in the slop, still a fun day. salmicropterus Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Sounds like a fine day. I'm on disabled list as the powerhead blew a week ago Saturday on the Rim Ditch. Val Osinski and partner had 24+ to win the G&G and 2nd had a bit over 20. Don't know what the boat count was. He said he was catching his on Big E-Zs. Quote

piscicidal Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I fished Okeechobee today. Fished from 7-4, mostly on the southwest. A real nice day...light winds. First three fish were solid 3lb footballs. Caught at least 30 before picking up and trying some spots on the south side. Caught a few more fish catching a 4lber right before I left. Most fish were on dippers/beavers/big ez...a couple on traps/loco lizard. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted November 30, 2010 Super User Posted November 30, 2010 Nice trip fellows! Mike I need to get out there ASAP. Have been busy with family and duck hunting, but its closed for a couple of weeks so let's do it! Quote
piscicidal Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Nice trip fellows! Mike I need to get out there ASAP. Have been busy with family and duck hunting, but its closed for a couple of weeks so let's do it! Let's go! I'm ready.... I ran back into some of those trails yesterday morning and it got pretty skinny back there. Took me a couple tries getting on plane to get out. I moved to the outside and think I found some pretty good spots...my first spot a guide with two clients sat down ~50ft from me (I could have pitched my beaver into his boat) and threw out shiners. Send me a PM... Quote
FlSnowman Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Sorry I am a newbie around here and new to Bass fishing as well. What is a dipper? Quote
salmicropterus Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Sorry I am a newbie around here and new to Bass fishing as well. What is a dipper? A "dipper" is a Skinny Dipper made by Reaction Innovation. It can be rigged in various ways but it is usually fished anywhere from on surface to about 4-6" below. It is retrieved somewhat quickly and triggers reaction strikes. There are some similar baits such as a Flappin Shad by Gambler, a Bass Pro Shad-o and Zoom has a similar, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Bitter's Baits in Central Florida makes an excellent knock-off of a Skinny Dipper Quote
