flyboy Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I am going to fish East Lake on Saturday for the first time. Anybody fished it recently and don't mind sharing a report or maybe a guess as to what might be worth trying this time of year? I'm thinking with this front that is coming through tonight and the wind they are predicting for the next few days it is going to be a challenge. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted October 29, 2010 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted October 29, 2010 Considering the recent bite in Central Fl and a cold front on it's way, I would say, bring a book and enjoy the cooler weather...and drag a worm on the offshore grass lines. Quote
flyboy Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Lee That's kinda what I was thinking, but I have a buddy that has a tournament there next week and I promised I would pre-fish East Lake with him tomorrow. Oh well at least I will get to see the lake, I've never been over there. Bob P.S. How are you liking your Stratos? I want to get rid of my Skeeter and Holiday Marine up here in Leesburg is picking up Stratos and it is a possibility. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted October 30, 2010 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted October 30, 2010 My girl is almost 20 years old now but if I was buying a new one, it would be another stratos. Super stable fishing platform, comfortable ride in rough weather and will run nearly 70 mph with a 4 blade power prop and only a fixed jack plate. Quote
flyboy Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Thanks Lee My Skeeter 20i is less than a year old but I hate the boat mostly because of service issues. I have a couple of minor issues that the dealer has been unable to fix because of lack of support from the factory and I have been unable to get Skeeter Boats to return a single phone call in the year that I have owned the boat. I fish all over the country and I am just not going to advertise for Skeeter if they treat their customers like that so I will probably get a Stratos when Holiday Marine brings the line on. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted October 31, 2010 Super User Posted October 31, 2010 Of significant concern to Florida anglers is the line drawn by the FWC that runs between East Toho and West Toho. Lakes to the east of this line are dubbed "semi-fertile", which includes East Toho, Mary Jane, Hart and so on. In contrast, lakes to the west and south of this line are classified as fertile, which essentially comprise the Kissimmee chain-of-lakes (Ex-Hatchineha). My Skeeter 20i is less than a year old but I hate the boat mostly because of service issues. I have a couple of minor issues that the dealer has been unable to fix because of lack of support from the factory If you're willing to migrate to another manufacturer, you might also consider migrating to another hull material (AL) Roger Quote
