tallonejosh Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 This weekend i will be going down to miami gardens and was wondering if anyone knew a few spots where i could catch some nice peacocks and also some largemouth. I do not have access to a boat so am going to be fishing from the bank. Also what type of tackle should i use when fishing for peacocks this time if year? Quote
gar-tracker Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Be careful down there, Miami Gardens can get a little rough at times. If you can make your way around the Snake River Canal by Dolphin stadium its full of Peacock. I think you should be able to find some bank accesses off 441 or out by the Turnpike. It runs east to west just north of the stadium. Baits...Those Traps with the little willow leaf on them and noisy top water baits. Good Luck Quote
I.rar Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 flukes and fluke jrs worked close to the top. top waters like a zara spook/puppy. DOA terror eyez. or live bait. peacocks on light spinning tackle is just fantastic. they like to be close to shore near drop offs. x2 , miami gardens isnt exactly known for being a safe area. good luck. tallonejosh Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Sorry I'm actually staying in fort lauderdale and will be passing through miami gardens so if you know of a safer place to fish for peacocks closer to Ft. lauderdale than i would prefer that if not than i will just be careful. Thanks Quote

Shane Procell Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I'am no peacock specialist, but the last 8 times I fished in Ft. Lauderdale I have not caught any peacocks. Grab a map and find all the little apartment ponds and canals running through the neighborhoods. Those canal have plenty of bass and snakeads. You need to go into miami for some for sure peacock action. Good luck Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 if you end up scoring a peacock i want to see a picture up here! Quote
