salmicropterus Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I'm taking my grandson out tomorrow and want to find him some fish. Is the water still high? Anything working out there? Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted October 14, 2010 Super User Posted October 14, 2010 I'm waiting to hear about the fishing also. If no on replies then remember, a bucket of worms or crickets always produce. Quote
piscicidal Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I'm interested in any reports also...my kids have off school tomorrow and my wife has to work. Thinking of taking the kids to Miami Canal tomorrow afternoon. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted October 14, 2010 Super User Posted October 14, 2010 Went out earlier today for a little while. The fishing has picked back up a bit in my neck of the woods. Yesterday and the day prior were really slow. Third day of stable weather probably helped a bit. It is nice and comfortable outside with it being so overcast right now. Was catching fish on everything. Swimbaits, worms, flipping grass, and jigs. Deep cranking some of the ledges here caught a few nice ones also. Besides the fish stuck up in the shallow hydrilla, all the others were caught just a bit deeper on the drop offs in around 11-14 FOW. Quote
Catching Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 From what I hear Holy Lands is doing good right now Quote
evrgladesbasser Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'm taking my grandson out tomorrow and want to find him some fish. Is the water still high? Anything working out there? Haven't been to Holiday in a few months... but, I took my boat out to do some water testing after some repairs last Friday. I put in at the Fingers, the ramp located at the bend north of Sawgrass. I put in at about 10am and only fished for two hours. In that time I landed 8 fish using three different baits; senkos, white spinner, and a bomber crank. Take him out there with some shiners and fish the finger entrances and your sure to have some luck. If you head north from the ramp about 10 min drive there is a huge tower (cell tower maybe) and a curve in the canal. That area has always been a great spot year round for me. Also noticed some bass busting at the end of the finger canals. What they were chasing I don't know but keep your eyes open for that as well. Good luck! Quote
evrgladesbasser Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 PS I never take my kids to Holiday or Sawgrass. I take them to less pressured spots like the fingers or the alley. Easier to catch fish which keeps them interested.. Quote
