when you exit onto Staples Mill Rd from I-64 there is a small lake or pond on the corner of Dickens Rd and Staples Mill. It looks like it would be good fishing. Has anyone fished this lake? Best I can tell, the only access would be through an appartment complex. Is this a public lake? Any information would be great.

Thanks,

Fish, I handled this apartment complex's property and casualty insurance bidding last year and they told me that anyone could fish the pond.

I asked the members of the board if anyone fished the pond and no one could remember seeing anyone fish the pond other than kids from time to time.

I have been meaning to give it a shot but never got around to it this summer.

So how about trying it and letting me know how you do.

I know of another pond close by where I caught one bass and will PM the details to you.

Later.  :)

This pond is right around the corner from my office and I've NEVER seen anyone fishing there in the 10 years I've worked there.  Nice to know now that its accessible to whoever.

Sam...you ever find out about that pond off 58?

Kirby, I don't remember a pond on Route 58.

I know of a pond off Route 19 out of Abingdon towards Lebanon.

Please refresh my memory.

And did you try that pond I PM'ed you about east of I-95???  :)

Kirby, I remember. It is the pond outside of South Hill that the guys fish when they hit Kerr.

I forgot to ask my friend about it and I spoke with him yesterday.

It is difficult when you get old to remember things. Who are you? Where is Powhatan? What is fishing? Who invented the Senko?????????

I will try to get the informatin from him but he knows how to get to the pond but I don't know if he knows the names of the roads.

More later.

Sam

Who is Glenn? Is YoZuri a Swiss company? Where is Big Dave S and is he chasing girls at school?

Kirby, I spoke with my friend who fishes the pond off Route 58 outside of South Hill and he said he can fish it as he rents one of the farmer's houses to stay when he fishes Kerr.

The farmer lets him and the others who stay at the rental house fish the pond, but no others.

Sorry, but unless you fish tournaments and rent the farmer's house for a few days there is no way you can fish the pond.  :'(

I think I may know the person who is currently renting that farmer's pond.  :)

Oh, he rents it through out the year?  Guess I should have realized there is probably a lot of that going on.  One of the guys working on site is renting a house from a farmer and there is a pond right there.

Too bad the Quality Inn doesn't have a pond.

Ask Mr. T to put in a pond for his three hotels in South Hill.

If memory serves me, isn't there a pond near the hotels on the east side of I-81?????  :D

Meant I-85.

Yeah there is a pond there.  Guess I could poke around it until whoever owns it runs me off.

I'll talk to Mr. T. whenever I see him this week and demand a pond or I'm taking my business elsewhere.
