salmicropterus Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Anybody been out this week? I have a T on Saturday out of the rest area. Fished the MC on last Sunday and it was very tough. Caught 5 all day with maybe 2 small keepers and a 3. Knew we were in trouble when I got there at 6:30 and no one was there and left at 2 and no one was there LOL. Lots of boats/trailers at the west ramp in between. Any ideas or reports? Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted September 10, 2010 Super User Posted September 10, 2010 A friend of mine said he has a tournament at Holey Lands this weekend. He was out fishing earlier today and struggled. Water levels were still high and the fish were really scattered. I told him good luck and that he probably should just stay home and watch football. GLADES Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 It is probably better to play fishing video games this time of year. I can run my outboard in the driveway and save the mileage on my trailer tires Quote

I just talked to a buddy who told me that he caught a 8lb bass today at the holeylands. He was fishing the east canal. Look for running water. Quote

Lures, depth, time of day.. anything else. Did he mention if the heavy pumping is still going on? Thanks that is great news coming from the Holeylands. Quote

bocabasser Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 let us know how it went..... It didn't! Two dinks and a big fat zero with a BAD ATTITUDE! :-[ i fished the big fish tourny at the holey lands today. caught around 30 fish, but the problem was they were all 14 inches long. i caught one 3 pounder. a 6.7 won and i believe there were 2 guys who had 5 pounders. the water is moving way to fast for any of my spots to work. fished the west canal and all of my fish were caught behind the pads on a shakey head. the 3 pounder came in the east canal on a carolina rigged ace. the water was ripping everywhere we went. tough bite. The water is high but it's been higher for sure. I think it's the movement that's the problem-that's my story and I'm sticking to it. To the Lake for a T next weekend Quote

To the Lake for a T next weekend I have seen the docks under 3 feet of water. With the water ripping, it is more like river fishing. Quote
