Dr. Watson Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hello all, I've been in Memphis for four years now and finally got a Tennessee fishing license, anyways, I'm having trouble getting any fish at all in the area, had some luck at herb parsons, but I don't want to drive 30 minutes and pay $5 every time I go fish. Tried shelby farms, found out its horrible, especially since the people with live bait aren't catchin anything. I have recently tired the little retention pond behind the chik fil on germantown pkwy, got a couple of bites but they were to small to fit the worm in their mouth. I know I can catch fish, I do it all the time when I'm at my home in FL, but up here I'm having a horrible time . If anyone can help me, please do, it would be appreciated. P.S. - if anyone wants to go fishing I'm up for it, I've been almost every day this past week. Sunday I fished for over 8 hours straight, that is the measure of my resolve, lol. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted August 31, 2010 Super User Posted August 31, 2010 If you have a boat, glen springs! same kind of deal as herb parsons though! There are more here that will chime in, but this is a rough time of the year to catch bass as well! We just had a streak of 72 days i think with temps above 90! Early morning bite is best, between 5:30 and 8ish! Jeff Quote
Dr. Watson Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Yeah, I've been going around 6:00 to 6:30 in the the morning, the LM I caught at Herb Parsons was around a 3 pounder and I caught it at around 2:30 in the afternoon when it was like 90 some odd degrees out, it's weird. Lately though the temp has been leveling off and cooling down, it's been beautiful out the past couple of days. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 31, 2010 Super User Posted August 31, 2010 I have been fishing a 57 acre public pond in Collierville. Numbers are good, but I haven't caught a 5+ in two weeks. I'll be fishing Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. If you want to tag along, send me a PM. -Kent http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1281318127 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted August 31, 2010 Super User Posted August 31, 2010 Dr. Watson I have fished several times with RoadWarrior and he is a VERY knowledgeable fisherman who will take you to some of his spots and show you around, as long as you practice catch and release and clean fishing habits! I have been to 2 of his spots, and caught fish at both! Looking forward to getting back to fishing with him, but last week I was out of town and this week I am heading up towards Nashville to do some fishing! Jeff Quote

phc03 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 hey roadwarrior, do you know any lakes or ponds in collierville, or near the collierville area? I'm trying to find a steady place. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 8, 2010 Super User Posted September 8, 2010 I have been fishing the 57 acre lake at the Collierville Town Hall. Generally good numbers and a few big bass: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1280746059 http://www.ragetail.com/ragetalk/index.php?topic=2053.0 Quote
