Good Spots in Upstate, SC

What's some good places besides Lake Hartwell near the Upstate, in particular Greenville.  I've fished out nearly all the ponds I can fish and looking for some better spots.  Would love to get on some largemouths.  Any help is appreciated.

there are several good lakes to fish that are not to far from greenville. lake keowee, lake sucession, lake greenwood, lake russell. then there are a few  smaller lakes like lake robinson, bowen, blaylock, and a few more but i cant remember the names of them. If you try keowee out let me know, I fish there alot so I can tell you a few spots and baits to try.

I don't really have any good spots except trying them all, but I am also thinking of visiting lake Keowee, Russell, and Thurmond. I just try and pattern fish hartwell every time I go out, because yesterdays "spot" seems to be devoid of life today:) I do look for certain things and repeat some spots, but I often find changing things up is more productive for me than trying to find that one spot. I have been having good luck around vertical structure in 10-30 ft though with finesse preaentations.

Fishing has been good in ponds and reservoirs with this rainy cool front we are having the last two days. I caught a 3# on my second cast yesterday (only fished 10 casts), and me and two others caught seven in three hours of varying sizes up to 2# on keowee this morning All in less than 7 feet of water! better than fishing those 20ft points like I've been doing lately with variable success. Boy does the weather make a difference!

btw, procraft if you'd like to let go of some of your spots and baits that have been working for you I'd love to hear from you I'd share some Hartwell spots and baits that are fairly productive for me, in exchange for some Keowee knowledge!

Wow, its not often you find boys from the Upstate on the national forums talkin about local lakes, especially Hartwell and the other Savannah River lakes. I love Hartwell, especially during the spring and fall. Hard to beat the swimbait there, both hard and soft ones. Guys, pm me, I would love to talk about bait selections for the lakes y'all fish and compare notes. I've never fished Keowee, but my grandpa won 4 tournys in row there with his club over a 4 year span on a particular bait. The number one rule of thumb for all Savannah River lakes is to follow the herring and match the bait color. If you do this, then you will consistently catch bass, and big ones. Skey, what areas of Hartwell do you usually fish. I tend to fish the main lake areas, unless its during the spawn. Im almost positive you can get on the rocky points and catch dozens of coosa or redeye bass right now out there on the main lake, and they tend to run in packs, so you can usually load the boat real quick.

Y'all boys are a little farther north than me, but I got a hunt and fishin club pond thats full of fish in Union, SC, and if y'all are ever in the area message me and we can take a trip out. That pond usally averages bout 20-30 bass a trip, and during certain times of the year 100 bass days arent uncommon during peak times. Glad to see some local boys on the forums. Stay in touch guys.
