brgbassmaster Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Hey guys do you think that swimming jigs in 54-58 degree water is a good technique. i love swimming jjigs in the summer and fall when the bass are chasing shad but wondering how well it works in the spring time. how about spinnerbaits with that water temperature? whats your experiences. BassinBoy Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Im not a jig fisherman, but people can tell you all the things they want but you still need to see for yourself. Go out and put a little time into swimming a jig during spring. For spinnerbaits, it would not be my first lure choice for 54-58 degrees. Quote
Bass XL Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 For spinnerbaits, it would not be my first lure choice for 54-58 degrees. Maybe not my first choice, but it would be my second choice behind a jig. Spinnerbaits work great when the water hits 55 degrees. Quote
Super User Marty Posted April 5, 2008 Super User Posted April 5, 2008 Another vote for spinnerbaits, along with crankbaits and Chatterbaits, they've all worked for me in that temperature range. Quote
hawgchaser Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 That is a great temp to throw spinners...In fact I did it today for about 6 hrs. The surface temp was between 55-58 and I got the majority of my fish on War Eagle spinnerbaits. Quote
