Super User Sam Posted June 16, 2010 Super User Posted June 16, 2010 Go for it. Give it a try and let us know what happened. Lots of apartment and office complex ponds all around the area. When you get your ADC map of the area you will see them. Fish 'em till you get run off!!!! ;D ;D ;D Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 ive wondered about that pond across from waterford never seen anyone fish it but looks good Quote
Tallent88 Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 i went early this morning to this pond 1st cast to my 3rd cast all caught a large mouth bass was crazy they were all from .5-1.5 but was still fun with top water baits had to go to work not much to tell wanna try again soon 5 lmb two crappie less than 1pound Quote
Tallent88 Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 sorry i was confused i started with a top water frog caught the three it slowed down switched to the boogie bait caught two over a pound then once that slowed up i threw to a brush pile like 2 or 3 foot deep with yellow and white jig and caught the crappie pretty close together fishing makes me crazy i went yesterday to the beaver dam pond over at Pocahontas went to the far side where there is almost not place to cast there was so much tall grass and pads i found a little creek type thing but it seemed to be about 10 foot deep in the middle perfect it was hot but i would throw the top water frog on the pads and the bass would literally come blasting through or when it fell off they would nail it i must have missed 6 bass in one spot i felt like i set the hook good each time and they would get to jumping and bam gone frustrating ! still caught about 5 ;D Quote
hookingem Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Told you about the top water at pochohontas! and dont set the hook so fast on frogs. wait till you feel the weight of the fish to set the hook. sorry i was confused i started with a top water frog caught the three it slowed down switched to the boogie bait caught two over a pound then once that slowed up i threw to a brush pile like 2 or 3 foot deep with yellow and white jig and caught the crappie pretty close together fishing makes me crazy i went yesterday to the beaver dam pond over at Pocahontas went to the far side where there is almost not place to cast there was so much tall grass and pads i found a little creek type thing but it seemed to be about 10 foot deep in the middle perfect it was hot but i would throw the top water frog on the pads and the bass would literally come blasting through or when it fell off they would nail it i must have missed 6 bass in one spot i felt like i set the hook good each time and they would get to jumping and bam gone frustrating ! still caught about 5 ;D Quote

racer894 Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 The waterford ponds have no fishing signs at them, as I found out today. Quote
Tallent88 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 the small pond out in front i did happen to see one small sign that said no fishing but i didnt see any on the big pond behind the buisness office and there where others there fishing did you see any on the big pond ? Quote
racer894 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I did not see one at the big pond. I saw where someone had been fishin iit at the dam though because they left their trash (nightcrawler containers, hook packages, 2 bottles, and an empty cigg pack). People like that are what ruin it for others. Quote
Tallent88 Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 i know i agree its ridiculous catching brim with worms or something like that haha come on pick up your stuff guys ! :-/ Quote
jerkw8nonajerk01 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 My favorite apt pond is the one on nuckols between strayer and addison....catch good fish there all the time...wellsley, innsbrook in the back..they are all pretty shallow though so the heat doesn't help Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 @ jerkw8nonajerk01: pond near strayer university? is pond in insbrook good fishing? any other good location to try on the northside and eastend of richmond? Quote
racer894 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I fished both the small pond today, and the large one at Waterford...Walked all around the large one, nothing at all. Saw another person there fishing, they siad there are nice ones in there. Quote
