alley has tons of fish as does the park. find the deepest ledges you can and use the biggest worm you can. that method has been catchin a lot of fish and winning lots of cash. the trick is finding the ledges that have the bigger fish.

I haven't been to Holiday in a while but I've been to the Alley a lot over the last several months. Here's what I can tell you about the alley; It sure has been good fishing out there. I usually fish east/ west canals along the highway. A normal day out I am catching between 20-40 bass. Topwaters kill em' in the early morning, then switch over to soft plastics and kill em' the rest of the day. With that said I will tell you I was out there Tuesday, and it was an odd day off the Alley. The topwater bite just was not there in the morning. I switched to softs and ended up with a total of nine fish, biggest was only 2lbs. What changed? Well I can tell you the water level has been slowly creeping higher, and it's been hotter than heck out. Tuesday also provided no cloud cover, and there was no wind first thing in the am, then only a very slight wind thereafter. I called it quits around 1030 due to storms rolling in and the heat. I would shoot for a day with more cloud cover and wind, both help with the heat and the bite. The ledges boca was talking about is the was to go, however with the rising water levels, the fish seem to be moving farther up in the flats where you can't get to them. And go early because lately the bite seems to turn off between 10-11am and wont start back up till late afternoon.

I was out there yesterday for the first time. The posting is up in the "Recent Outing" page. A JD's custombaits "Monster Worm" in the salad was the ticket for us. My three fish came on the first twitch.

Went out the Alley yesterday and we caught 50. Lot's of chunky keepers (1.5-2.5#s) and one 5#. We would have had more if we really stayed in place when we found them but we moved around a lot. Fish seem seemed clustered in 50-100 yard areas dispersed randomly.

Right on Sal.

I agree that the fish are random clustered. There is usually a indentation in the bank or the canal is deeper (ledges) adjacent to the bank. Areas where the canal makes a T at the bridges are usually good. And anywhere that there is an opening into the flats. You can fish 100 yards of bank and get nothing, then the next 50 you can catch 5 keepers. I usually make a few passes along those stretches before I move on.
