Punkinseedfyretailz Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 its been a long time since i've fished motts, but i know people are slamming them this year. i could use a little help locating the underwater islands and beaver damns. i'm good with directions and i won't have a fish finder so any and all help would be appreciated. NewAngler Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 too late, but I hope you hit the cove directly across from the launch. Quote
Punkinseedfyretailz Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 nope not even. went over to the d**n and hit all the coves and points. was a bust for the most part, caught 4 bass total. even had live minnows on a drop shot and couldn't do much with it. no quality either, largest was maybe 15 inches and about a pound ribbon tail or wacky worms were the only thing that seemed to get bites. i got a reaction strike on my 1 oz rattle trap fishing the center of a cove. will hit it again soon though, so the cove directly across??? good structure over there??? NewAngler Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Yea it offers a ton of shade, shallow to deep water, few laydowns. A lot of "fishy" stuff. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 8, 2010 Super User Posted June 8, 2010 For this time of year, in the cove across from the ramp, the best producing area is from the right point on in to about 50 yards. Did you get any slamadmers trying to mate with your plastic worms? Quote
Punkinseedfyretailz Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 no i dont think so but i was casting a good distance away from the points and structure, that way i could work shallow and bring it deep on the retrieve. i'm goona keep that cove in mind next time i go, thanks for the help guys. bigbasskiller Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 good luck, please let me know how you did. I went there last year and pulled 3-4 out in about 5 hours. Very slow and the bites were few and far between. I'd like to try it again. Take care! Quote
