Super User Nitrofreak Posted May 21, 2010 Super User Posted May 21, 2010 OK this bait monkey is getting on my nerve's!! Is there such a thing as a female bait monkey? Cause my wife keeps coming back from shopping with these bait's that are pretty or cute or adorable and she just has to have them because it matches her outfit or whatever. The only logical thing to do is to hunt this thing down and open a big can of whoooopa** on it !! OH NO I just thought of something horrible what if he is my bait monkey and he is getting in touch with his feminine side. How do I stop this insanity? Quote
gar-tracker Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 The Rod and Reel monkey came to bass pro with me yeasterday, I dont remeber inviting him. Quote
endless Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 WOW, you have the she monkey too. My wife never into fishing just went out and had me buy her the extreme combo, a few lure, and few other things and tells me I'm really getting into this fishing thing. Oh crap over $200 on her and maybe $30 on me. At least she sees my point on on blowing allot on fishing gear, it just was on her and not me. NOT FAIR!! Oh well I'm happy for her she rarely gets anything for herself. It also give us some time together till I get in golf. ..."But please woman no more backlashes. I do have better things to do on the water than fool with your reel"... Quote

Super User Nitrofreak Posted May 24, 2010 Author Super User Posted May 24, 2010 Well if nothing else maybe I can do a little training with this monkey and she will eventually come home with something useful like a new Nitro or something. Until then I'm just glad she is buying stuff for her and staying out on the water. But it's killing our fishing fund's!!!! (I'm thinking shock collar) Quote
Red Bear Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 women are already programmed with "born to shop" software installed in their brains, im not sure if they need 'help' from the bait monkey Quote

flyboy Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Wow, my wife does not have a shopping gene or shopping monkey, but it is amazing how the bait monkey got on her back and mine too and has made us do bad things. We got a letter from BPS informing us we were in the top 2% of their shoppers, gave us shiny new member cards and key chain tags and they invited us to stop by anytime. Of course our new boat was all outfitted by then, we have all the tackle we need for a while and the poor ole bait monkey is going through withdrawals. Anybody know a good facility we could send our bait monkey to? We were hoping for one as good as the one Tiger went to. He needs some serious rehab. He is having a sexual identity crisis and he has serious shopping withdrawal symptoms. Quote

I think your going to have a hard time getting rid of that one. But with the new cards you received their is some good news... Because with the money you spent... BPS sends you a new bait monkey at no extra charge!!!! Quote
jeepcrazy Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Nikki decided she wants the Rick Clunn RCX reel from BPS today. Why? Because it's "purple." *sigh* Quote

flyboy Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 My wife kinda did the same thing. As my story progresses, keep in mind that she cast well and can fish with most guys. We were at BPS and she decided if she was going to be the "girl fisherman" she needed girly things, so she picks up one of those Pflueger bait cast combos that is pink with pink guide wraps. I looked at it and said OK, thinking anything that will keep you interested. so we load it up with 12# Stren, tie on a blue and white spinner bait (her favorite) and she proceeds to slay the fish her first day on the boat. By ten a.m. she had worn out that reel; seriously wore it out. It still worked but it was squalling like one of the old Ambassadors from the 70's. A few days later we took the outfit back and told them it only lasted a few hours and we wanted to exchange it. To make a long story short she didn't want the girly stuff any more and is now the proud owner of around six chronarchs. That bait monkey created a monster, but a great fishing partner.
