backwater4 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Fished the Everglades (actually the canals off I 75). What a blast. Started out with some big worms, 12 and 16". We caught some on these which was fun, never fished anything that big before. Then caught a bunch on swimbaits, senkos and spooks. In total, probably had 40 bass in the 1-7lb range. Most were 1.5 - 3 w/ 2 over 5 and the one about 7. You guys have some great fishing down here. Tons of fun. Quote
GLADES Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 The fishing here is usually great all year long. Fresh or salt water, a nice choice to have. The canals along I75 always produce well. I have had days when I caught 30 bass on 30 consecutive casts. Mostly small ones though. Those 5's and 7 are quite good for that area. glad you had a good time here. Quote

Glad you had a good time. What did you hook the 7lber on? Just curious, I suspect live bait but please enlighten me it's been years since I saw one that big down here. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 1, 2010 Super User Posted June 1, 2010 The big girls are still around evergladesbasser, I caught some nice fish earlier this spring after the cold. In the hot weather I haven't had anything over 5 though. Live bait is definitely the key for the larger fish though. Glad you had a good time Backwater4. South Florida really is the fishing paradise it's made out to be. Next time you come down here, you've gotta take a day to go catch some Peacocks. 2 pound peacock fights like a 6 pound largemouth .
