DBassBusta11 Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Just got finished checking out some videos over on youtube. Found a cool vid on a snake lure. if you wanna check it out, type in snake lure in the search on the site. Also found something that kinda disturbs me. Guys with bass in tanks feeding them live mice. Now is it me or is that not just sick and cruel. 1. I don't like the idea of a 1 to 2 pound bass in a tiny 10-20 gallon tank. Its just sick to me.... what do you guys think? > :-/ Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 3, 2008 Super User Posted April 3, 2008 Some people have mental problems. Minnows, crawfish or goldfish would make better selections. Quote
Jake. Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I've seen that video. That bass is WAY to big for that tank. Quote
Chad. Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Are you serious i feed my piranha's baby mice. no lie Quote
HesterIsGod Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I do not see anything wrong with keeping a bass in a tank, so long as the tank is big enough. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I don't see anything wrong with it. A bass will take a mouse in the wild, if the mouse falls in the water. And as to keeping a bass in a tank, I don't care, there are tons of bigger fish kept in the same size tanks, and they don't seem to suffer. If they were suffering, they wouldn't eat, they'd look sickly, and would die quickly... Quote
DBassBusta11 Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Well I have seen many with tanks well suited for bass and others that definately aren't. I know that bass will eat just about anything that is small enough to fit inside their mouths i.e chipmunks, baby gators, and of course snakes. It just doesn't seem cool to video your bass eating mice and throw it up on the tube over there. Just cruel to me. Thanks for all the replies~~!!!~~ Quote
fishizzle Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I had a 12" pickerel in college in a 40 gal tank and I fed it goldfish If I put in 10 goldfish they would all be gone in 30 sec. The only problem is it would slam its nose into the glass every time. If the tank is big enough, you can learn alot Quote
Wheelin Al Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Get out of here. That is the coolest! I am going to have to find a goldfish lure and a thick wire leader when I get the fever for Pickerel fishing. I need to catch a 2lb'er on a Mepps for my next badge. Quote
