bocabasser Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 fished today and caught about 15 fish. had the wife and kids so i didn't fish hard. the water has dropped at lox. i tried out west, and got a few but that bite is slowing down tremendously. i found all of my fish on the east side in the canal, about 2-4 miles north of the highschool. spooks and flippin gettin 'em. GLADES Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 It is great to spend a few hours with the kids fishing and catch a few bass. My daughter is 2.5 so I will have to wait another couple of years before I bring her out in the boat with me. Looking forward to it though. I have been catching smaller bass in the grass and flats out west too. The summer pattern seems to have arrived. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted May 24, 2010 Super User Posted May 24, 2010 Definitely great to get out with the kids fishing. My daughters love it whenever we get out. Glad you guys are catching fish up there. It's becoming hard to find where the largemouth have disappeared to on my lake. Slim pickings right now. Peacocks are all over the place though. Quote
SoFl-native Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I fished Lox last week. Tuesday i think. Caught over 50 with all but 3 of them coming on topwater. I launched from Southern and caugh them about half way to to the flats. Nothing over 3 pounds. Good fun. Quote
piscicidal Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 My kids love going to lox. I posted here last november about a trip I took there with my (then) six year old daughter. She had six bass in the boat before I had one. She still reminds me of that trip. I haven't been to lox in over a week, but the trips I've made out there recently have been good. My last four trips have all been 15+ fish with at least one +4lbs. The bigger fish I've caught have been in deeper water. The fish I've caught on the flats have been small. Quote
