VABassin'14 Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Myself and a few others are going to be heading up to lake Orange in the morning. None of us have ever been there before so I figured that I would see if anyone has some helpful information. Any tips about types of cover, water temperature, water clarity, etc would be appreciated. Thanks for your time and help. Quote
joshdd Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 The places where I have had the best luck: The islands near the boat ramp Back in the cove to the left of the dam There is a bunch of sumberged timber near the right bank as you head toward the dam from the boat ramp Panfish usually hang out around the fish attractors. VABassin'14 Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 It was a bit of a slow day, but we managed to catch about ten LMB, one Crappie, one white bass, and a huge pan fish of some sort. Didn't do much fishing to the right of the little islands towards the dam, but did fish a little over there without any luck. Most of the fish we caught were in trees along the bank on the left past the pier. Crankbaits, texas rigged worms and a jerk bait are what worked today. Still didn't see any beds, which surprised me. I will probably make another trip or two there before the year is over. Nice place. Quote
