mrbassky Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 We got reservations this year there. Its not a 5 star resort but its the best we could find on short notice. A couple questions for guys who have stayed there.. Can you tie your boat up anywhere close to the cabins so you dont have to launch everyday? And how many tvs per cabin? we may bring an extra one for the youngsters if there is only one. Thanks Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 I've heard enough horror stories about that place that I made a point of actually looking last week. Bleh... Did you try Dodd's Cove Cabins? Coldwater Cabins? Quote
mrbassky Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 How bad? There are lots of great places to stay around Guntersville and I dont think its the best place by any strech. But I wonder if they are comparing to the nicer places around the lake. Here on lakes where there arent many options other than camping it may be the Hilton. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 10, 2010 Super User Posted March 10, 2010 I wouldn't stay there. Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I've heard the Holiday Inn wasn't too nice either. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 10, 2010 Super User Posted March 10, 2010 Most of the guys in my club stay at the Day's Inn in Scottsboro, I haven't heard any complaints. There are definitely some really crappy places in Scottsboro. I went cheap on my first trip and hated every minute of it. I stayed with Coldwater Cabins last week. Other than a few small things, it was great. Much better than a hotel. Quote
fishguts Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Woody's is a s*** hole. If all you want is a roof over your head, fine, but the guy hasn't spent a dime on maintenance in years. We ran out of toilet paper, the floor in front of the shower was about to cave in and the whole place--we had like six cabins for our group--was just nasty. Each cabin had one tiny TV with just a few crappy channels. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else. Quote
Tirador Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Stayin at Pole cat creek next month. Stayed at Days Inn in scotsboro last year. nice enough for guys but would not take the family. Pole cat has boat houses a straight walk down from the cabin, havent seen it except on internet.Great fishing last year! Quote
