SilveradoKid Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hey guys, new guy here. I was wondering if ya'll could help me out here. Me and two buddies are heading down to VA to fish Briery Creek. We went down last year as well, and had a blast fishing there and Sandy River. We also tried Lake Conner out. We caught some nice fish, and vowed to return. Were also looking to expand the places we will be fishing. I have noticed the Chickahominy River. Im wondering if anyone has the address for the ramp location, and if anyone could tell me about how far of a drive from briery it is. were staying right in town near briery. Is the river tidal as well? Were heading down the nite of the 13th, early morning 14th of march. I appreciate the help guys, Thanks Nick Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 2, 2010 Super User Posted March 2, 2010 Rock-A-Hock Campground in Lanexa off Route 60. State park off Route 5 at the Chick/James River bridge. From Briery you get on 460 towards Richmond, take the Route 307 shortcut back to 460 towards Richmond. Take460 to I-85 north towards and then through Petersburg getting on I-95 north towards Richmond. Take toll road Route 895 to north I-295 towards Washington, DC. Exit I-295 onto Route 60 towards Williamsburg. Google Rock-A-Hock for the address and directions. Time: 3 hours drive time pulling a boat. Chick is a tidal river. I will send PM as to how to get the tides. Will also double check spelling of Rock-A-Hock and get the name of the Route 5 Bridge ramp. If you want to fish the Chick Lake you need to go to Ed. Allen's. You pass Ed. Allen's on the way to Rock-A-Hock. Watch the state police and local deputies as they are out as the counties and cities need the tax revenue from the tickets. Quote
69bird Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Ya Rockahock is the best place for the river close to Richmond The best place for chick lake is Eagles Landing on 650 off route 60 . :) Dan Quote
fishguts Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Sam's directions aren't accurate. Do not take 307. Stay on 460 East. Quote
