bow3022 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I tend to fish year round and well, during the cold days my hands are freezing! I mean the weather is 40 or lower, winds vary from day to day. I mean my hands go numb. Are there gloves that could keep my hands warm and dry? Of course i need grip, to tie on hooks, baits, etc. ANd of course when catching fishies, my hands get wet so it makes it even colder. Quote
Thefishy1 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Go to wally world in the fishing/hunting section and get somt of the fingerless gloveswith mitten covers and cut off the thumbs and sew them so the foam does not come out. It cost me six bucks and 5 minuites and it saved my hands on a recent 14 degree tournament. Also I was skeptical about being able to feel bites through the gloves but really I found that there is almost no difference in sensitivity. Quote
justfishin Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 When I am running up the river I use a pair of gore tex gloves but, I keep a case of those brown jersey gloves with the red inside in the dry box. When the pair I have on get wet I just put them in a bag and put a dry pair on. They are not that expensive by the case. Quote
gloomis7 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I got some awesome gloves for Christmas you might like...they're BPS gloves and they feel like a neoprene/lycra mix. They're really warm and the index and thumb are notched so you can pull them back over your fingers for tying. They're also waterproof. Mine are black and blue I don't know about other colors. Quote
Fishin49er Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I have the same gloves that gloomis7 is talking about and they work pretty good. The pull back fingers also work great for thumb control with baitcasters. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 10, 2007 Super User Posted January 10, 2007 Try neoprene, not sensitive enough to tie a hook on but it will definitely keep you warm while you are fishing. Waterproof too... Wayne Quote
