NewAngler Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 You guys fishing today? I'm going to bps then wouldn't mind hitting some of your spots. Quote
cmatthews6485 Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 no fishing today for me drank a little bit too much last night. i did go to bps today and picked up my second carbonlite rod and a few strike kind crankbaits Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 27, 2010 Super User Posted February 27, 2010 Passed up the BPS sale as I really do not need anything and I have heard Woo Daves many times. Went to a friend's home and watched him paint some crankbaits. Fished a local pond but it was way too cold so no bites. They are deep and are not moving much. Came home to watch the NASCAR race; Olympics hockey; and to have dinner as my wife is in Hampton at the quilting show. It is nice to have a day to yourself. Quote
NewAngler Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 Dropped 2 bills at bps, drove to aquia creek. Nothing doing. Quote

XLFISH Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 With nothing else to do my brother and I went out on the James River from 1pm to 5pm and caught ten blue cats from 37 to 50 pounds. It wasnt bass fishing but it broke the boredom. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I am from Richmond, but now live in Newport News. I went out yesterday, had to try out my new reel. I hit up Southlake with a KVD sexy shad chrome lipless crankbait. No fish caught, but I did get a ton of vegitation! Quote

There are a couple local bass clubs down here and I am starting to check their websites regulary post-tournament. If they start bringing in "sacks," I'm going fishing! Quote
Carrington Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 this weekend is suppose to be nice, if i can get out i may try the ponds at innsbrook for the first time on sunday if anyone wants to join me. Quote
XLFISH Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hokifisherman, we launched out of Jordon Point. The funny thing is, we never fished any water deeper than 10 feet. Quote
cmatthews6485 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 yea this coming up weekend is supposed to be nice i probally will be in innsbrook sunday around what time would you be going carrington Quote
hokiefisherman93 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 xlfish where were you cast netting the shad? just out of the launch area? Quote
XLFISH Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hoki, I didnt have to. He did it before I got there. If you leave Jordan and go down river about about a mile there is a creek on the left that always hold bait in the winter. About four hundred yards in there is a duck blind with a deep hole in front of it. Quote
hokiefisherman93 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 This area got a swift current or could one use a kayak on this stretch. I frequently go to belle isle and ancarrows but never ventured that far downstream Quote
