BassinBoy Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I want to get bullet weights to flip plastics with. To flip weeds with tubes and worms, what is a good weight to use? Thanks Quote
SteveF Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I would say that it varies so much from one situation to the next, however I would say that a 1/4 oz weight is probably my average. I do use 1/16 oz all the way to 1/2 oz depending on the "weeds" (broad term) and depending on the tackle that I am using. If your looking for one weight to use in most situations I would say a 3/16 oz-1/4 oz. Hope this helps. Steve Quote
SPAZ Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I did well flipping with a 3/8 oz weight. I tried using 1/4oz and didn't like it as much. I felt that the weight wasn't falling fast enough. I was using the tru tungsten weights. Quote
thetr20one Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I flip pretty beefy baits I usually use a 1/2 oz tru tungsten. it lets u go from flippin to pitchin without taking your hands off the rod. Quote
Super User Tin Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 Go with tungsten and let the fish tell you how fast they want it to fall. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 For heavy cover I like to use a 3/8oz bullet weight. I like the trutungsten flipping weights but at $2.50 a piece there pretty expensive to be tossing into a place were it could easly be lost. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 2, 2008 Super User Posted April 2, 2008 I would use 1/4 to 1/2 ounce. Heavier weights might be needed to punch through heavier weed growth. Quote
