No where.

Still too cold.

Waiting until later in March to hit some ponds after fishing Lake Gaston.  :)

I saw some open water in innsbrook when I was at work.  It's still cold, but I have to do something I can't sit inside anymore.  I don't care if I don't get a bite

The rappahanock is unfrozen, I stopped fishing for smallmouth a couple years ago, so I don't know if the bite is any good but knowing smallmouth I am sure you will get bites if your persistent.

Also the tidal rapp is unfrozen but I never have fished there.

Local ponds became unfrozen this week but the water is still cold.

Some ponds have no ice or snow on the bank, like the Innsbrook ponds.

Check out your favorite ponds and you may be surprised that they are actually ice free except in specific areas that do not get the sunlight or are shallow areas.

I would think the ponds would start being productive at the end of March, if not sooner.

Give 'em a try and let us know how you do.

Be safe.  :)

The private side of Lake Anna is never frozen, I just gotta get down there and see how much snow is on the ground. I plan on puttin my boat in next week for a few days.

Just checked weather.com, gonna be 52 degrees on sunday ! Im gonna be out on the water at lake anna. I'll let my dvr tape all the bassmaster classic coverage while I fish  ;D The snow should all melt with 4 days in a row around 50 degrees or so I hope. I dont wanna launch my boat in 18 inches of snow

Fished Lake Rooty in Innsbrook tonight after work for about an hour.  Pulled out a descent fish on a green and brown jig.  I'd say he was about 1.5, not great but better than I expected

YES!

Lake Rooty is open meaning the other ponds in the area should be getting ready for some good fishing.

Thanks for the info.

The time has arrived to spool the reels!!!  :D   :D   :D
