DINK WHISPERER Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Right now all i take is a flippin' stick/worm rod and a rattle trap setup. Flippin' and pitching dark colored soft plastics around the south end island and Henderson's Cove is very productive. Also, if you find offshore hydrilla run the trap over it to get reaction strikes. GLADES Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I have some success using pumpkin/red trick worms fished around hydrilla and buggy whips. I have caught a few 5+ using white horny toad frogs with red hooks along the lily pads and shore. Look for clean clear water with a sand or shell bed bottom. Quote

I would try and cover water with plastic topwaters or wake baits such as Horny Toad (Ribbet-my favorite), Skinny Dippers and Gambler Flappin Shad. You could have fish in pre-spawn, spawn and even post-spawn patterns. Work both the insides and outsides of grass lines and the advice about sandy or shell bottom and clean water is excellent Florida advice 365 days a year. Quote
