Thai Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 You're not gonna let something like snow stop you are ya? ;D It looks like we will get some isolated flurries during the week and weekend will be sunny down in Anna but 28 degrees or so...lets hope the reactors are on and the steam coming off the water is enough to keep us warm Quote
soccplayer07 Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 i heard two to four inches this morning. makes getting the boat out a little tough yet doable. Quote
Thai Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 two inches shouldnt be that bad, I'll help you with that too Quote
RockvilleMDAngler Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 If we have serious snow accumulation (6 inches or more) I might have to bail only because I don't feel comfortable driving that far towing a boat in snow. Plus once you get off of I95 those roads towards Anna are pretty narrow and I would be surprised if they are all plowed and salted at 6:00AM. If the roads are fine I am there! I wouldn't be surprised if the whole storm misses us. Quote
MountaineerLegion Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 wow making enemies already...brave My wife and I just got back from Vegas and we saw a comedy show out there called Defending the Caveman. The comedian says of men, "if we're not ragging on you THEN you know we don't like you". Pretty funny show if you get the chance. Quote
MountaineerLegion Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 play nice ladies. We all know the Ravens are the best team in town anyways ;D Im headed down to the lake in a few hours, coming back tommorow. I will see if I can find some good spots. I'll only be on the water for an hour or two today but tommorow I'm doing the morning bite. Hopefully I can find a place with ethanol free gas thats open. Lets plan on meeting up sunday morning around 7:30 somewhere off the thornburg exit. I think Im goin down the night before so I will drive 20 minutes or so to meet you guys. Does anyone know how to get to high point marina or maybe sturgeon creek ? If so we can meet there. And if anyone plans on eating after we fish then we need decide what we're gonna do. Burgers and bratwurst maybe ? Lets figure this out. Are you all fishing the warm side? Neither Sturgeon nor High Point are on that side of the lake. I duck hunt out of both and you'll need wings to get to the warm side of the lake from there. Sturgeon will put you in closer to the reactors but High Point is a better launch in my opinion, especially if there are several of you. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Well I just got another dogsitting gig this weekend so I can't go anyway. So I won't be left out. Good luck guys, I hope the weather works out. Make sure there is at least one camera on each boat. I want to see pics of fish! Quote

quanjig Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Week-end weather not looking very yummy. I'm still down if we have a good Sunday. Hopefully it shoots to the south and we get little or nothing. Quote
RockvilleMDAngler Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 My trolling motor will be ready by tomorrow so my boat is good to go for Sunday. Let's just hope that the weather cooperates! Quote
Thai Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I'll get the sacrificial goat ready, we'll bleed it at midnight, that should appease the fishing gods.. Quote

I know where the warm side is considering we have had this house since the early 90's thanks for the tip tho. I was simply sayin I would drive 20 minutes to the marina to meet ppl and have them follow me. On a sidenote we fished 3 hours today. Only d y k e one had warm water, everywhere else on the lake was 45-50 degrees. I did manage one about 14 inches long on D Y K E one about 15 minutes after we got there. The fish just didnt turn on today. Its hit or miss out there. Quote
VABasser Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Steve, I think the site censored out whatever you wrote and put I'm a dork instead. haha. I was trying to figure out what you were talking about and then it clicked Quote
cmatthews6485 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 further south of richmond are supposed to get the heavier end of the snow and only 6 inches in richmond but im hoping it just misses us all together Quote

I was trying to figure out what you were talking about and then it clicked I just saw that so I tried to fix it by using spaces, thats pretty silly that the site censors the word d y k e. I mean cmon. Im not talkin bout girls who like girls here. sheeesh Quote
Bigs Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Oh and I forgot to say, if there is snow on the ground anywhere around the lake then you guys are gonna have a problem towing boats on the backroads with snow. Not gonna happen. If thats the case we will post pone it till the weekend after the superbowl I guess. Quote

The point about the house also clears up for me how you all were getting access to the warm side. That's a primo piece of property to own. Quote
Thai Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Dont you be trying to back out now Scuba Steve, I've had a boner on for this trip for the last week! lets hope the snow either passes us or is light Quote

RockvilleMDAngler Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I am psyched for this but I agree with Steve that the roads will be really tough if there is a lot of snow in that area. Those roads are not as well travelled as the ones further North and would not get as much snow treatment. Quote
Thai Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 If we dont make the Anna trip we will make a mini 4mr tourney? Quote
