soccplayer07 Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 I'm hoping my fish finder has some sort of map for Anna. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 I think that the GMCO map of Lake Anna has contours on it. My GPS has the hot side but I have the WAAS system. Just beat the shores, points, docks, bridges, boat houses and moored boats like everyone else does. Quote
Bigs Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I only have one map so thats on u boaters to do. Get one for like 10 bux. Or just follow me to where Im headed as long as u can keep up Quote
Bigs Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 oh and I think my friend is bringin his triton so there will be one more boat Quote
MountaineerLegion Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hey folks, Brand new to the the forum and this thread caught my eye. How often do you all fish Anna? I live in F-burg and am just getting back into fishing after several years. How many tournaments does your club fish? Dues? Members? Fill me in. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 Most of us don't fish it at all. We don't have a formal club, we just get together and fish. Sometimes we do a tournament format but it isn't anything serious. So we have no dues, we have no official members, just buddies who fish together. Quote
Bigs Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 None of us are experts on lake anna and I have had this house in my family since 1992, so you would think I know something. This will be a learning experience for all parties involved. I have only fished it during the spring and summer, this will be my first time out on the water during the winter. I got some good tips from cc mcotter recently so I think we should def be able to put some bass and even striper in the boat. This is def not a club, more like a get together every once in while involving forum members who post on this section and love to fish seriously for bass. Theres so many clubs out there in northern va that I wouldnt even know where to start on choosing one to join. Quote
Thai Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 You can send your club dues to me haha no like the others have said before we're all just a buncha of guys who like good fishing, good drinks, and good company, if that sounds like you then welcome and you'll get your tryout for the NOVA crew soon enough if you decide to stick around Quote
LoudounFisher Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 If it's of any use, here's a map I put together of the area near the power plant. Quote

Actually, I'm just getting back into fishing. I used to fish a ton, lm bass, smallmouth, flyfishing, catfish, trout...but then got married, had kids, etc. etc. Low stress is the kinda "club" I'm looking for. Thai, my dues are in the mail! Are you all "big boat" guys? Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 most of us don't own boats. Some of us have smaller jon boats, and a few have "big boats" So just to be clear, this is planned for Sunday the 31st? Quote

Super User Dan: Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 John, it's a cat. They are a common domesticated mammal that some Americans keep as companions. lol, it's one of the new smilies, I just thought it was funny. Quote

NewAngler Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Hey Moutaineer, welcome to the site. Those "NOVA" guys are really no good. They are horrible fishermen, have horrible body odor, and their jokes aren't even funny.... Finally another "North Central" VA fella.. And wait, this is the 31st?? My bro is getting hitched on the 30th. If my hangover doesn't resemble the movie "The Hangover" I might be down. But, DO NOT hold a spot for me, if there's a spot, cool, if not I will bring my kayak for safe measures. Quote
quanjig Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Look Josh, all you have to do is play it cool. He sounds like he might be a "friend". You remember what those are.............. right??!! Quote

I have a Lowe 1648 with a temperamental 35hp Johnson...actually it's a duck hunting boat that normally "sits" most of every summer....but not any more. Quote

Bigs Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 play nice ladies. We all know the Ravens are the best team in town anyways ;D Im headed down to the lake in a few hours, coming back tommorow. I will see if I can find some good spots. I'll only be on the water for an hour or two today but tommorow I'm doing the morning bite. Hopefully I can find a place with ethanol free gas thats open. Lets plan on meeting up sunday morning around 7:30 somewhere off the thornburg exit. I think Im goin down the night before so I will drive 20 minutes or so to meet you guys. Does anyone know how to get to high point marina or maybe sturgeon creek ? If so we can meet there. And if anyone plans on eating after we fish then we need decide what we're gonna do. Burgers and bratwurst maybe ? Lets figure this out. Quote
