VABasser Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 About JJs magic, do you use the chartreuse color or one of the others? I think I want to give it a try this season. Quote

Super User Gatorbassman Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 I use JJ's Magic most of the time for my soft plastics. I dip the whole thing in clear first and if I need any color I will then dip the tail in chartreuse. Then when I need some color added to a white fluke I use Blue. Merthiolate added to a white trick worm or frog is the best bubblegum color you will ever see. I am a believer that JJ's will get you more bites out of a school of fish. I credit my two 30+ fish days on the Guntersville Trip to JJ's. Quote

Sure makes some pretty baits... Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I use YUM LPT or Carolina Lunker Sauce Tight Lines 8-) Quote
bassmaster911 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Well I read part of a book on this but can not remamer the name. Nightcrawler scent triggers the most feeding habits. Crawfish is second and after that is salt garlic and a few others. garlic was only at about 3% and salt was close to it where as nightcrawler at top was at about 80%. Then why do so many companies push salt and garlic so hard? Well, I recently bought a nightcrawler crawfish, and garlic scent to test which is best. All 3 are the Gulp! Alive spray so brand will not be a factor. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 While were on the subject of scents...... I've noticed there are numerous YUM fans here on BR. I bought a bottle of Yum craw scent a few years back. It is a deep craw red and will change the color of plastics to that craw red. This is the only bottle of Yum craw I have ever heard do this as others I have talked to, who have bought Yum craw scent, have not experienced this red dye syndrome. Has anyone else ever experienced this with Yum craw? Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 Smelly Jelly. For bass I like the crawdaddy, bass feast, and baitfish flavors. SJ stays on better than anything else. It isn't magic (no scent is) but it can turn a few lookers into biters. May as well use every advantage as you can. Quote
