Found a terminal tackle box at 4mr today. Looks like it had been there a few days. Water and a little rust was inside. Hooks, weights and one jerbait are inside. I took it so no one stole it. Will also post this on Craigslist.

Yea buddy. Ya know, the one with zero fish caught. That was me.

I had a feeling that was you.  Don't ask me why, but had. A feeling. What were those guys using as bait? Seemed like they had bass had bass after bass.

those were all carp, i think they were using corn, although the one guy got a fairly big one on a flyrod I have no clue what he hooked it with though.  I was suprised to find out I wasnt the first down there, and so were those guys.  Dont feel bad about not catchin anything the bite just never turned on.

Everyone doing fish counts now huh?

I'm keepin track till spring at which point Im gonna be catchin so many I wont be able to keep track. The ones that everyone is catchin right now are so small they hardly even count to me. Brent caught 40 this morning but more then half were around 10-12 inches long which to me dont really count. I say only ones 14 inches and longer should count. Or I could go out and use a beetle spin and catch 50 babies and inflate my fish count  :D

seriously. Steve, if you post two times in a thread, it takes twice as much scrolling to go down the page! ;D

I don't keep a fish count because frankly I have trouble keeping track of catching any more than 4 fish. I think I'm going to start keeping a log but it will be more to analyze weather and water conditions, lures, etc...

I kept a log for 3 years in a row. I was keeping track of not only the conditions on the days I fished, but every day in between. I figured I could look at the conditions leading up to my fishing outings and see if I could determine any trends. Looking back even today, I can learn things about my catches and even compare them to my current outings. Might start it again but it was a bit of a pain. I was keeping track in a pocket type calendar, wish I could be computer savy and do something like that on the 'pooter........ anyone know if software is avail. for something like that??

Woah.....that was way off topic

I think that's what I'll do. Keep a log in a book while I'm out fishing and then input them to a computer. I think the best bet would be Microsoft Excel. You can use that to make spreadsheets with all the relevant information.

quanjig and others,

Daytum is a nifty web-based application that you can use to create custom data containers and "collect" or publish routine information into them. I'm thinking of using it this year to track catches, conditions, GPS data, etc. They have a handy mobile interface, too, so you can use it from a web-enabled mobile phone.

Wonder if anyone has had any success with that. It looks very interesting!
