Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 My buddy puts a rattle in his worm everytime he uses one. ( That did not come out right) He won't fish T-rig plastics without one. We started fishing night tournaments and somehow got me to try them out. I use rattles all the time at night now with my T-rig worms. Then I got to thinking, I fish so slow at night using worms that I wonder if the rattle is making any noise due to the lack of bouncing the worm off the bottom with any type of force. Has anyone ever tried using a brass worm weight and glass bead like in the C-rig? Only without the swivel and leader. Just let the bead and weight rest against the worm. It seems to me that the weight and bead would produce more noise then a rattle. Thanks for the replies. Quote
KevO Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I tried putting a rattle in a 4" senko, but it gave the bait a bad action so I took it out. I always put them in a fluke though, I really think it helps. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 1, 2008 Author Super User Posted April 1, 2008 I'm talking strictly worms. I think flukes give enough action w/out rattles. Quote
flippin Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 i use a bead and a rattle alot i think it helps Quote
Shadcranker Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 If I'm flippin a tube in heavy grass or buck brush, I always use a tube rattle. i think it helps them find it. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 I use the rattles on T-rigs 60% the time, like the plastic ones better than glass since glass is to slick and slips out. My brother likes the brass bullet weight with a bead, but it looks bulky imo. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 If you really want to rattle their brains use one of those Gambler rattlin weights and a worm insert also.Double the fun! I have great success with that at night and in the generally nasty water thats around here. Speaking of tube rattles try the paca craw at night with a glass tube rattle and of course one of the previously mentioned rattlin weights. Quote

Garnet Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Thats why I use bobber stop, Stainles bead, tungston worm wieght, glass bead. I can adjust the amount of rattle. I'm never digging for another incert rattle. Works on all Trigs and all wieghts 1/8 - 1.5 Garnet Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 1, 2008 Super User Posted April 1, 2008 I don't use rattles with soft plastic or jigs. 8-) Quote
Americangirl Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I will not use a trickworm or senko without a rattle in it.. period! i use a 3mm glass rattle to me is much better than the plastic ones that are also too big for the worm......it makes a HUGE difference Quote
