flyboy Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 There's a guy that fishes the Pompano Rodeo each year in a Kayak. I am not sure if he has ever been in the money but I talked with him once and he said he has caught several sails. The Silver Lakes area of SW Broward looks like a wonderful place to fish with a Kayak. Drive down I75 to Sheridan and go west to 172nd Ave. Most of the N-S streets in that area have parks where you can launch.I know there are tons of bass and peacocks in those I catch them from the bank behind my house and my lake is connected by canals to the Silver Lakes area. I haven't fished those lakes but they look great. I'm old and fat or I would be Kayak fishing myself. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 I've launched my Zodiac with a trolling motor on it in some of the lakes right off of 172nd. Theres one called the Boaters Park (I believe) just north of Pembroke, and another south near Miramar Pkwy. Both of them are loaded with fish. For the most part they are untouched lakes. Some of the residents have small boats, but I rarely if ever see them on the water. On my lake I know of a few other people with boats, but I think I've seen them on the water two or three times in the last four months. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 You're asking for sensitive info here man! Kidding of course. The one I mainly fish in is my backyard lake. Development is called Nautica. Right behind Dolphin Bay Elementary. Just West of Dykes road on Miramar Pkwy. It's not the greatest lake in the world. Small banks with shallows, then steep drop offs into the unknown. The spraying company hasn't been around for a while though, so there is some grass and all to get into right now which should be holding fish. I need to get some electronics for the Zodiac so I can explore the bottom a little better. There is one point that almost always has fish on it with a small cove right next to it that is fairly shallow with plenty of weeds/hydrilla in it. There are tons of lakes in the area that get VERY little fishing pressure. Theres one that I've been meaning to get to for a while on the other side of 75 that is almost full of lillypads. Right over near the post office, Wendy's, and Pollo Tropical. Miramar Regional Park has some great fishing in it, docks and all got put out there for fishing. That water system snakes around for a LONG way, but is very hard to get into the back areas of it most of the time. Make sure you have your fishing license on you there though, I have been checked before. Look at the area on Google Earth, you'll see some prime fishing spots. Quote
I.rar Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 lol. the place i go to is riviera isles. right up the street. the fiances cousin lives in there and we almost always go fishing in that lake. while its not pressured , there really isnt much to it. we havnt been around all the inlets and everything , but when i get back down there , ill try to get them to check everything out. btw , the pea in my avatar came from that lake. Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 I know quite a few kayaker's mostly fish for kings. They put in at Boynton ( free parking ). Some work the ICW, Lake Worth or Southern Blvd, free parking as well. If I were to kayak fish for bass I'd pick the El Rio canal, brackish side in Boca, snook, tarpon, LMB, very little bank fishing, minimal fishing pressure. I know 2 good launch areas, 1 public(free parking) 1 private but no hassle. Quote
