Super User Dan: Posted December 31, 2009 Super User Posted December 31, 2009 I'm probably going on Saturday, as are a few people I know. Thai, David, are you guys planning on going? Depending on how many of us go then we will ride down with my buddy. If there are too many to fit in his car with his buddies than we can take our own car. Either way, it should be a lot of fun. Rowland, are we meeting at the Daiwa booth again? Quote
Super User Micro Posted January 1, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 1, 2010 The Daiwa booth was big, visible, and convenient. So I'm all for meeting there again. Even if they moved it. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 1, 2010 Super User Posted January 1, 2010 Exactly what I was thinking. Quote
Thai Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I'm with you Dan, lets hope I got enough money saved up! Quote
NewAngler Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I'm in. I'll more than likely have some open spots in my car. I'm about three minutes off 95 in north stafford. Saturday is the day I'm going. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 1, 2010 Super User Posted January 1, 2010 I will be there, too. Working bass boat raffle and kids casting from 4 to 7 PM on Saturday but will be there around 2 to walk around. Be sure to put Green Top on your itinerary, too. Worth the trip. Off exit 86 on I-95, heading west towards Elmont. Then, go left onto Route 1 and Green Top is to your right about 1/4 mile down the highway. Gander Mountain is at exit 86 with BPS at exit 89. Bring lots of money!!!! Micro, what time do we want to meet at the Daiwa booth? Quote
Super User Micro Posted January 1, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 1, 2010 I can do it any time that day (as long it's not like 8:00 AM or something like that). So others can choose the time. Quote
Bigs Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I'll be there on friday or saturday with my buddy brent. I'll make sure I have at least a grand to spend incase I see anything I have to have. Im plannin on findin more deals at the hillendale flea market in february tho. Cant wait. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 1, 2010 Super User Posted January 1, 2010 I'll ask my ride when he is planning to get there and I'll have to plan around that. It'll probably be sometime in the morning. I know we'll also be planning a stop at the VA tackle mecca that is Green Top. If you've never been there, you MUST stop in to see the best tackle store I've ever been to. Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 ill be there fri or sat evening sometime! I think greentop normally has big sale around the time of the expo every year 8-)! Quote
Bigs Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Green top has a great selection but their prices suck. I rather buy my stuff online then waste my cash there. If they have a sale their prices still wont be any better then online prices. The only thing they are good for is some of the smaller less known tackle companies that are hard to find. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 1, 2010 Super User Posted January 1, 2010 Their prices are inline with just about every other brick and mortar retailer. They might be more expensive than TW or something (which I'm not convinced they are) but they make up for it with the fact that you can go there and see the items in person before you buy them. That is VERY useful when researching about reels and rods. I challenge you to find another store in the state that has as many high end G Loomis and Daiwa rods. They are the only place that I've found that sells Zillion rods. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 1, 2010 Super User Posted January 1, 2010 My ride has changed his mind. Looks like we're aiming to go early Friday morning. Who is going to be there on Friday? Quote
Froggin Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'll be there on saturday with 2 grand to spend on something.... Ha Ha.... ;D ;D Quote

Super User Dan: Posted January 2, 2010 Super User Posted January 2, 2010 wow. btw Steve, ever heard of a savings account? Quote
Bigs Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 catchin fish and just being out on the water makes me feel better then money. Havin family and friends is the best feelin. But it's true, you cannot take it with you when you die. So why be a tighwad bout things ? I rather enjoy myself even if it means spending cash on things I could live without. A 50 dollar reel will catch just as many fish but I prefer something a lil nicer in my hands. I dont go out and spend alot on cars, clothes, expensive boats, bar tabs, sushi, etc... I spend most my money on tackle and just livin expenses. I used to dump alot of money into customizing cars and that gets very expensive and not very rewarding. I think the fishing hobby is much more rewarding and cheaper then building a race car that Im never gonna drive anyways or a 40 thousand dollar boat that Im afraid is gonna get scratched up. Quote
