NewKidInTown Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Hey guys, I am wondering if someone can help me. I want to take my son to Okeechobee to give him a shot at getting a really big bass. My question is,,,, what month of the year would give me the best chance of doing this? Any thoughts comments? All appreciated. Thanks Quote
salmicropterus Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I would say pretty much now until the end of March. That is when the big momma's are most likley on beds. PM me and I'll give you the name of a great guide or two out of Clewiston if you want a guide Quote

PM me and I'll give you the name of a great guide or two out of Clewiston if you want a guide I would stretch that out till May, Okeechobee has some of its strongest big fish spawns late in the season. If its just big bass you want you may want to consider changing the trip to ToHo. While Okeechobee has its monsters its not known for its giant bass, just quantity of 6,7,and 8's. Quote

bocabasser Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 many clubs do and have never had a problem is this true MR. Welcome? Quote
George Welcome Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Paper tournaments are perfectly legal on the Marsh. The fish is weighed, measured, and photoed, which is no different than what everyone does. What keeps a paper tournament honest is that the people on the same boat are fishing against each other. We have two or three clubs that do this each year. Quote
