Bigbassdaddy Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Im going Jan. 7th-14th and it looks like it really going to cool down, with highs in the low to mid 60s starting this weekend. How bad will it hurt the fishing? Not familair with Florida cold fronts, but Ive heard it can absolutely kill the fishing. Quote
Steve P. Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I can't tell you any specific spots because I don't fish that chain of lakes, but I can tell you that flipping mats is usually the way to go during these cold fronts. A cold front will push a lot of fish under the mats. Now all you have to do is find the right mats(with fish under them)on literally tens of thousands of acres of water where you'll be fishing. I've went to some weigh-ins over there and watched guys like Clunn, Brauer, Nixon, etc come in without a limit on that chain during a severe cold front. What I'm saying is don't feel bad if you don't load the boat. Good luck and let us know how you do! Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 31, 2009 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 31, 2009 You will be fine Andrew. Put in at Grape Hammock and fish the pad line on the east side of the channel. Call when you get here and I will put you on some fish. Quote
