NewAngler Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Hey I remember when I first joined on a post you had something about a kayak trip on the potomac. What was it? Website? How often do you guys go out?
Thai Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 its pronounced Dan? not DAN! , I know silent question mark at the end.... and PM is your friend
NewAngler Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 Well, pal, I thought about sending a PM, but I thought there might be other folk on this great site with knowledge on this subject as well. So I posted public
Thai Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 You'd draw more people in with something kayak relevant in your thread title... You lose Josh
quanjig Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Woah...woah......woah.......lets back up Thai. I believe Josh has a valid point. He was giving a shout out to DAN!
Thai Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Whos DAN! I only know of a Dan? on here ;D and Josh knows I kid, he's been texting me all night trying to divulge sweet information outta me aha
A.Do? Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 HAHA you guys are hilarious. what have i been missing?! Would you be talking about the float we do with our pacemaker forum buddies?
Super User Dan: Posted December 18, 2009 Super User Posted December 18, 2009 ahahaha Andrew! I like the new name. My name will be followed by an explanation point only on my birthday. Anyway, yes, I believe you are talking about the Pacemaker site. AndrewDo is on it, Thai just joined, Mudkart is on, as well as a few other guys. Kiko13 on this forum is the administrator over there. That kayak trip was kind of an impromptu thing, it's not regularly scheduled but those guys do generally get a few trips organized per season. Unfortunately, I think most of them are probably finished with kayaks for the year.

NewAngler Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 Thanks for the backup, John. I figured that the trips were over, but some reading material nonetheless, thanks. I'm still going out on saturday. After many texts and a few threats to kidknap his dog, Thai told me a good spot down here that should give me a world record. Curtis Lake. Lock it, you're gone George Perry!!

Thai Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 You need to take into account that Josh is new to kayak fishing, and his kayak is a not fishing kayak so he will be fumbling around in it, Lunga and Smith are too big for him to be in freezing open water on his fish trip...Curtis however is smaller and has more structure closer to shore for him to safely fish So if by dog piddling on his leg you mean looking out for him than yes im guilty ;D There are also a couple lake just south or Cutis off of Germanna, i dont know if they are private or not but you're in a yak who cares lake of the woods Fawn lake and 3 or 4 more i dont know tha name to

I wrote that after I had just come home from a long evening at the Botanical Gardens viewing Christmas decorations so needless to say, I was not very alert.

When your rebuttal to a "coming out" joke includes the phrases BOTANICAL GARDENS and CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, it doesn't help your case one bit. ;D Look at it this way, at least you guys can still fish down there. ;D

Not my idea of fun but they like Christmas decorations...at least I got a pretty kickass italian dinner out of it.

HoooooHeeeeee.........Curtis......phewww .......thats funny......... Damnyou Thai. John, you being serious? Does it suck? As far as fishing, yes. I was gonna tell you that last night but got too lazy. But as Thai says, for you to just get out on the water, get some casts in the yak and get the feel for everything, its not a bad option since it is so close. But don't go out with high expectations. I hear back in the day before the golf course and everyone started fishing it, they shocked up a 14lber (something along those lines), but then everyone heard that and started fishing it. Its only ~90 acres. I'll PM you about a spot sometime today if I get around to it that is a true honeyhole. Its not a winter spot, but spring, summer and fall is a whole other story.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 18, 2009 Super User Posted December 18, 2009 Dan, the big question is.... Was it as good as the place we ate in WV? That dinner was the sheet!
Super User Dan: Posted December 18, 2009 Super User Posted December 18, 2009 Don't tell my parents, but no, I actually liked the ravioli in WV better than the lasagna I had last night. This place was SUPER fancy. It was in Georgetown and there's a dress code and they have pictures of former Presidents and actors and stuff. I think it was one of those places that everyone says is good because that's what other people say so they think that's what they're supposed to think. It was still a really good dinner, it was just one of those places that didn't really live up to the massive expectations that are built around it.
