XsnakeheadhunterX Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I'd say a 9lb fish. Caught him or her right behind my house in a branch off the C-13 canal. Caught fast on heavy tackle as to not exhaust the fish and released to live on to fight again another day. Quote
Krzkev Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 That is definitly a big fish. Where is that canal? And is there Peacocks in there as well? Quote
Atlanta Jim83 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Wish I could walk behind my house and fish for monsters like that. Nice one! Quote

SW Florida Kid Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Just an FYI... anything over the 7-8 lb range are all female bass. Male bass do not get much bigger than 7 lbs. Females can be twice and big as males. ALL trophy bass are females 10lbs or more. Nice catch! I'd love to catch one of those these days! Congrats! Quote
XsnakeheadhunterX Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 That is definitly a big fish. Where is that canal? And is there Peacocks in there as well? Canal is in a residential community in Coconut Creek known as Centura Parc. If you can not get into the community (I doubt you can unless you know somebody since it is gated) you can fish across the street in the big canal across from the community that basically goes into the tradewinds park canal. Don't know if anybody has ever fished over there but it's all connected to this canal I caught my lunker in. There are deffinitely lots of big fish in this canal. Ive caught a large snakehead, lots of peacock bass, and big bass. Quote
