80pruf Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I have a friend that catches GOOD smallmouth at Pony Pasture! He has caught BIG fish in eddy pockets behind rocks that would have people sunbathing on them. Its pretty crazy. Spinning tackle and Zoom centipede...all you need. Quote

cmatthews6485 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Went to innsbrook and had a good day today catching two around 3lbs and 4 dinks. Would have been better if this guy was not in a spot i wanted to fish i watched him catch 10 within 1 hour and all of his were 3+lbers I caught one of my big ones on a wacky rigged senko and the other on a power bait finness worm Quote

Would appreciate any help eith Diascund, Little Creek, Waller Mill, Beaver Dam and Chick lake. Quote
dauberangler Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 New to the area as well. Just bought a Tracker 12. Caught a decent one out at Briery and looking forward to going back. You need to learn how to properly weigh a bass. Im getting tired of seeing people punch holes in the mouth. Either get a bag and or a scale with jaw grabbers. Quote
cmatthews6485 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 If you weigh it right like he did it doesnt punch a whole in the mouth so if you dont know your facts then dont trash on someone else Quote

I hate seeing fish caught and then people trying to weigh them and causing more harm than good. People need to learn how to use a scale! Quote
cmatthews6485 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 But he didnt poke a hole in the mouth he did it right and did it threw the bottom of the gill so it doesnt poke a hole Quote
JVM Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 But he didnt poke a hole in the mouth he did it right and did it threw the bottom of the gill so it doesnt poke a hole ...EXACTLY!!! Hey guys, I have an idea, let's not make it our sole intention to beat up other anglers. 1 - he didn't do anything wrong so far as I can see, lik dude said, under the gills, no harm, no foul right? 2 - If there is a problem weighing them that way or any other non-intentional offense, then politely offer help. I am not trying to be too PC and all but crappin on ppl for no good reason is pretty silly. Tight lines! Quote
Shawn OConnor Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Exactly. Know your facts before you start bashing people. I would never poke a hole, that's just dumb. Quote
JVM Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 On a new note, thinking bout going out tomorrow and maybe monday. Was thinking about hitting either Hunting Run or the Rez. Anyone know how the fishing has been out on either of those lately? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted September 12, 2009 Super User Posted September 12, 2009 I fished Hunting Run on Friday 4th. and caught a bunch but mostly small ones. I'll probably go there tomorrow. It is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Quote
endless Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 On a new note, thinking bout going out tomorrow and maybe monday. Was thinking about hitting either Hunting Run or the Rez. Anyone know how the fishing has been out on either of those lately? i fish there quite a bit myself hunting run. my pb is from there a 4.2 lber. if not from the county though it will run $7 for the pass and $3 for the launch if have own boat. you can buy a year pass i want to say for 27 but its end when lake closes i think in october something. wayne p knows more about that. i will be getting my year pass when reopen and also im buying both passes ni and hunting run. ni res i want to try next. i hear alot about it from the guy in gander mountain.and the older guy who works in the hunting run shack. he fishes ni too. hes a very nice man. i sit in there usually talk to him for at least an half hour or so every time hes working. youll see him sometimes fishing with his son in hunting run too. just about everyone is nice to fish around. seems like everyone one fishing gets along well easy to talk to. i had guy help me with my depth finder in middle of the lake one time. but anyways i like the lake alot. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted September 14, 2009 Super User Posted September 14, 2009 endless, all the passes are for both lakes. The lake closes on Oct 12 until March. I have caught several 7#+ bass at Hunting Run and my largest this year is 6-2. The guy in the rental shack was suprised to see me there today since I usually don't fish on weekends. Dr. apportments messed up my weekday fishing this week. I can't take my boat to Ni since no gas motors are allowed on it. Quote
