soccplayer07 Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 Burke was pretty successful. we were able to find 4 brush piles and picked off 7 fish. Nothing of size but still relatively successful. Quote

Super User Dan: Posted November 25, 2009 Super User Posted November 25, 2009 yeah, 7 between all of us. Also a warmouth and a crappie. I took a pic of the crappie to show a friend who is a crappie fisherman, other than that, nothing was worth getting the camera out. Quote
shimmy Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 ooo, man. Just seven. What made it so hard today? You figure the weather played a role or is it just winter time fishin? I was wondering how you guys fared today. Tough luck. Any fish stories? Bigguns get away? Musky? Quote

It can be good some days for the right people, but today was not one of those days or we were not those people. Quote
quanjig Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 First of all, you guys did very well for little knowledge of the brush piles. Now that you have a basic idea of how they have layed them out, it should get easier to find them and easier to determine which piles are going to be productive. For your first attempt at finding and fishing the Burke piles, well done. Quote

This was actually the best of my few trips to Burke as far as numbers go. We were pretty happy that we were able to locate and pull fish off of deep structure/cover because I'm pretty sure that collectively we had very close to zero experience with that sort of fishing.
