Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 Looking to go for an outing, any reports will help. Yeah don't go.......unless you have a boat. I've stopped at Lake Ida a few times and for me it hasn't been very good. Lot's of peas in Boca canals, but I would head to Coral Springs or Coconut Creek, some ponds there hold nice fish and you can use light tackle, no high bank to deal with. I haven't been over to the FAU spillway in a long time but I know on high tide there is snook, LMB and Peacocks there. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 I was out on Osborne Monday late morning. The lake is full of hydrila along the edges and stretches out to the middle in patches. Throw rattle traps around the bridges and rip it through the hydrila. Black worms also produced well for me in the hydrila holes. There is a tournament scheduled for this Saturday but expect high winds. I'll be fishing though. Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 no boat, unless i can convince a dude i recently met to go. sounds like bad shore fishing, but i will still go and definitely throw that trap like you said. nothing better than throwing the old rattelin' vibe in baby bass. thanks for the reports Quote
bocabasser Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 do yo have car? let me know and i will put you on some fish in a lake out west by glades and lyons. giggy head with trick worms dropped off the ledge---kills 'em. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 5, 2009 Super User Posted November 5, 2009 I'm not too far from Glades and Lyons........end of Wiles road has a ton of peas and nice LMB. Boca Rio canal sometimes is very good and you are at waters edge, no high bank. Quote
MuahMan Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I've been fishing Ida a lot the past couple of months. Caught an 8lb fish there on a Manns -1 crank. Been doing very well by the sandbar early in the morning. Lots of weeds even into the middle of the lake. The island around the sandbar in the back always holds a few bass because it goes from the sandbar to a big patch of hydrilla to 7' water. Also caught some big fish with a trap along the western side of the lake. Lake Osbourne is hard to fish from all the jet ski traffic and glut of boats. Plus seems like there is a tournament there every week so the pressure is insane. Been hitting the cental canals in Boyton between Osbourne and Ida, caught some tiny peacocks, a few small bass, and a couple hundred of those stupid Oscars. Would love some new places to fish. The canals are kinda boring and you are stuck just pounding the shore for miles on end. What is that at the end of Wiles? Could I get my Pond Prowler and 55lb? Gonna be windy this weekend but I'm gonna try and fish somewhere. Quote
GLADES Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 There is a nice lake at the end of wiles rd. I have never fished there so I cant tell you much about it. The lake comes right up to the edge of the road so launching should not be a problem. Wiles rd dead ends into a cul-de-sac so you probably could park your vechicle there. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 8, 2009 Super User Posted November 8, 2009 Well, I fished a tourny at Osborne today. My partner and I caught about 20 but didn't place. 1st was 14+ 2nd was 13 Big fish was 5.12 Winds at 6am were 17 knots with gusts 20-25 and it got worse as the day went on. I fished Lake Clarke all day but the majority of boats went south, Boynton/Lake Ida I assume. The fish I caught were holding tight under cover/docks. I was tossing black Senkos with a 1/16 ounce split shot. The split shot was about 8 inches above the Senko. I was also using a 2/0 circle hook. Quote
