tampabass87 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hi guys, I'm new to the board here. I'm originally from MA but am attending the University of Tampa. I have came across quite a few articles online about trophy largemouth at the phosphate pits in Lakeland Fl but didn't come across many pictures or fishing reports. I did see one picture of a 16lb fish that was shocked up there and also the 12lb mount at the check-in station at the park. I was wondering if anyone has heard any reports in the last year or so of any 10lbs+ LM? Coming from the north I'm pretty confident with fishing offshore structure and from the research I've gathered that seems to be the deal there for trophy bass. I plan on putting some serious time in at the pits as well as other Lakeland/Orlando area lakes and ponds and I'll add reports here as I go if anyone is interested. -Joe Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted September 22, 2009 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted September 22, 2009 I have heard but not seen them. I fished Tenoroc many times last year in Lake B and Lake 5. We had days with good numbers but nothing over 5 lbs. Some of the smaller lakes are supposed to be good but I can't get my boat in them. Let us know how you do. FD Quote

You can also hit saddle creek or several other small lakes in Lakeland. Example of a small lake last month Quote
