Super User Micro Posted March 24, 2008 Super User Posted March 24, 2008 No one has thought of that! Good idea! Quote
cootertom Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Could several of the members get together and order some baits if someone has a contact or can import? Quote

fishizzle Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Their new technique for finess is a wacky worm with a round jighead for a hook. Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 24, 2008 Super User Posted March 24, 2008 Their new technique for finess is a wacky worm with a round jighead for a hook. Nothing new, pretty old technique and it wasn 't even developed in Japan, it was developed in the US. Quote
GobbleDog Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Jap lures are expensive to begin with, but with the US dollar falling as much as it has those prices have gotten even worse. Quote
Perfect Hook Set Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 Just in case there was confusion... I was talking about baits and lures rarely or never seen in the US Same thing goes for techniques Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Japanese products are great, I love buying tackle from Ichibantackle.com. Best finds: Evergreen Sledge Escarda, Deps spinnerbait Quote
Super User T-rig Posted March 25, 2008 Super User Posted March 25, 2008 I was talking about baits and lures rarely or never seen in the USSame thing goes for techniques For example....? Quote
DrumintheSuds Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Go to a lake where every fish has seen every bait in every color. Get your partner to tie on a Japanese made lure that is painted different, swims different and has a different rattle that they haven't seen and get back to me. Quote
BassinBoy Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I only use one bait from Japan called Yellow Magic. Its a very expensive popper but it is worth it. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted March 25, 2008 Super User Posted March 25, 2008 I've never used any lures from this company but they have some cool but odd stuff. http://www.tsunekichi-inc.com/brand/index.html Quote

Bassboy15 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 ^ Wo that really is some cool stuff....tried any of it? Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 25, 2008 Super User Posted March 25, 2008 From those 5, yup I 've tried the first two and the last one, the fisrt one ( Okera ) is nothing special, no better nor worse than any other creature bait out there in the market. The tail less grub is a really nice bait but it 's tiny size doesn 't bring anything out of the ordinary, good numbers bait, but you can catch about the same with a regular 3 inch grub. It ain 't the wand, it 's the magician. Quote
LooksLikeSinbad Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I just got some dynagones : and some Jackall Bros. Pine Shrimp: but I haven't gotten to try either of them out yet. Quote
Perfect Hook Set Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 There are loads of baits used in Japan that has never been used here, though unless you find a website (as some were listed) that will ship to the US then we all will just need to wai until another angler brings it here. Quote
LooksLikeSinbad Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Here are a few reputable place to order Japanese tackle online: - Plat - Japan Tackle - Japan Fishing Line and there are a bunch on ebay too. Quote
Zel Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Years ago, Wacky Worm in Gilbert, PA carried Berkley Japanese soft baits (Irregulars only) which were not available here in the US. I've tried several, and found them to be okay in my book, but nothing spectacular. Quote
