WalleyeChaser Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Took the yak out on Burke Lake this evening for a couple hours. Fished the dam and picked up one 15 inch fish on plastic worm. I decided to try some deeper jigging on one of the points when I landed this nice 23 inch bass. She busted my jig on the sweep in about 6 feet of water. I was fishing a blue/black jig with plastic trailer. This was my biggest fish out of Burke Lake this year. Fished another twenty minutes after this but did not get any other bites on the jig. Tight lines to all! Quote
Purpleworm82 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Nice fish! Burke Lake can be tough, good to see the big ones are in there...well done. Quote
stunning Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 We need to wait a couple of weeks and hit it at night. There are a few sweet spots that seem to give up larger than average fish at night. By the way, nice fish! Quote
eScanoe Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Very nice fish. New to figuring out Burke Lake. When y'all night fish, how deep do you fish? Do you mostly stick to the edge of the weeds and brush piles. I'd like to start catching some walleye too, but sounds like that's best in the spring and fall. Quote
stunning Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 There are 4 spots the I fish at night, one is a brush pile and the rest are points with stumps. Quote
