snyper77 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Do any of you use these products? Are they "as good as their websites claim to be"??? I'm one of those idiots that will buy each one of them, so please stop me! Well, just tell me the truth. Does the megastrike scent in a tube work? Is Cavitron buzz baits really productive? What makes an Evolution jig any better than my Lunker Lure Triple Rattleback? Thanks!!!!!!! Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 The only one of the three that I ever used is the Cavitron Buzzbait. After using it pretty extensively (along with other buzzbaits), I have to say it is probably the best buzzbait out there (though, I haven't used them all). It stays on the surface with a pretty slow retrieve and is very durable. I highly recommend trying it out. Quote
snyper77 Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 That was GREAT feedback! Exactly what I am looking for! Any others? Quote
Bassboy15 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Can't say i've tried any thing, but I have heard alot of our members talking about how good megastrike scent is... Quote
rocknfish9001 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 well i caught my new pb on a cavitron buzzbait, and my favorite jig at this time is the evolution jig because it has a great stand up stance, as far a scents go, I always try to use them, the give me more confidence, i dont know if any out perform each other too much to notice a big difference Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I personally only like the Megastrike out of the 3. The rest I wouldn't say are anything special. But the megastrike is a scent that is easy to apply, lasts long, and works great. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Evo jig flat out works for me. Caught my PB last year on one, as well as a bunch of quality 3-4lb bass. Haven't used the Cavitron yet, but it has gotten good reviews here on the forum. I always have some Megastrike in the tackle bag, don't have any science to back it up, but sometimes when they are tight lipped it seems like the difference in catching 1 or 2 instead of the ol' skunk. Jake. Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 The Cavitron is my favorite buzzbait by far. It is just an awesome lure. I have never tried the Evo Jig or the Megastrike. Quote
snyper77 Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 Well, so far, looks like "money well spent" to own these 3 items! Now, where'd I put my credit card. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 25, 2008 Super User Posted March 25, 2008 i bought a cavitron a while back because i needed a good buzzbait (my strike king was falling apart on me). havent had a chance to use it yet, but i hear it is close to the best buzzbait ever! cant wait to put that to the test. FlipnFanatic Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Megastrike scent - I'm not much of a scent guy, so I really couldn't tell you. Cavitron - By far the best buzzbait that I have ever tossed. Evolution - Have a couple, but I am not very fond of them. If you buy all 3, you might like 'em or hate 'em, but one thing is for sure.... The bait monkey will love them. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 25, 2008 Super User Posted March 25, 2008 Cavitrons are the best buzzbaits out there bar perhaps the accent high rider. Quote
LandofLincoln Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I've used Megasrtike and Cavitron. Both are the class of their field and are money well spent. Have not tried the Evolution jig. Quote
wagn Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Cavitron is a great buzzbait. It's on par with any other one that i have used and also has it's own unique sound which gives me more variety when night fishing Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 26, 2008 Super User Posted March 26, 2008 Could someone please post what Megastrike smells like? Does it smell like garlic or anise? Thanks. Quote
Big-O Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Has a shad or cod type of scent and it works well for me Quote

kw012768 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 All are awesome. The MegaStrike is easy clean and stays on a bait like nothing else. I use it almost every cast. Cavitron is another great bait and I agree it has a sound like no other I've used. Evolution jigs work great in situations where a football head would be the jig of choice. I have tried them in a swimming pool as well as the driveway and they roll up as shown in the video. I'm still not sure on the weedy area and how that will be but should know soon. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I don't throw plastics without MegaStrike...it's kind of a confidence thing. I do believe that it helps, but that's my opinion. Also, I'm a smoker, so the MegaStrike helps mask any smoke odor that finds its way to my baits. I have a couple Cavitrons, but haven't used them too much just because I'm not a big fan of buzzbaits. It does run well though. Evolution jigs - I don't like them, especially for the price. I had to spend time evening out the skirts before using them, and the weedguard is too flimsy, IMO, for dense cover. Quote

Something about the skirt being "wasted" where it sits under the fulcrum. Also, I think they upped the thickness of the weed guard strands. If I could figure out how to effectively search this site I'd try to find the thread. Maybe someone else could. Quote
