Link Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Hey Guys, Not sure if it's been done before, or something but would anyone be interested in having a little meet up to do some fishing? Possibly a day tournament or something, folks with boats/canoes/yaks can come out, take out those that might need a ride. Any Central Virginia takers? Quote
SimonSays Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I'm definitely interested! We do have some for Northern VA, but I don't think I've ever met any fellow fisherman in richmond before besides Sam Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 18, 2009 Super User Posted April 18, 2009 Sure, depending on my schedule. All weekends in May are taken for me, between my wife's great adventure at Magic Dragon Days at St. Michael's; the NASCAR race; LSU Mardi Gras Float in the Bon Air Historical Days Parade; LSU Crawfish boil; placing flags on the graves of fallen heroes at the Amelia Vets Cemetery; and the Memorial Day weekend. And all my weekends in June seem to be taken between Yute Day; American Legion Flag Retirement Ceremony; and two tournaments (James River and Rappahannock River). I have July 18 open for now!!!! So you all have fun and let us know how you all do. Quote
T.R. Express Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Sounds like a plan. I've had the pleasure of living/fishing up here for the past 10 years, and ironically im from Chesterfield VA!lol What days work best? Quote
JVM Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I too am game. What body of water are we talking? Quote
SimonSays Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Wanna hit the James up for the Shad Run this weekend (4/25) or possibly swift creek res? Quote

Brian4618 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Im in Hanover, but im game for some fishing, let me know when and where. Quote
New River Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I have a two-man cataraft... if anyone wants to float the New River on a Tuesday or Saturday for smallmouth bass, send me a message. I'm not a guide, but I do catch fish... and the trip is FREE. Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 9, 2009 Super User Posted May 9, 2009 There are a lot of places to meet and fish in the greater Richmond area. I would not suggest the James River. I would suggest a pond or small lake, like Rooty or Three Lakes Park or up at Hanover Courthouse Park and that small pond or somewhere in Chesterfield County. Maybe we should wait until the weather clears one weekend as this weekend we are having thunderstorms. Just a suggestion. Any pond recommendations?????? Quote
Chimborazo Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 There are a few ponds up the road from Rooty, which has a lot of crap in it right now. Every cast you come out with weeds and algae. That was about a month ago...maybe it has cleared up by now. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted May 10, 2009 Super User Posted May 10, 2009 Richmond = central VA? :-? Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 10, 2009 Super User Posted May 10, 2009 Burley, I would think you are correct. We could meet closer to your area but you are way out in western Virginia and most of the guys are in eastern Virginia. Let's see what plays out. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted May 10, 2009 Super User Posted May 10, 2009 Richmond is anything but central VA. Richmond is eastern VA. Central VA is Roanoke/Lynchburg. But, if the state ends at Roanoke, I guess Richmond is central VA. Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 11, 2009 Super User Posted May 11, 2009 Actually, the state ends at Blacksburg and Virgina Tech. Maybe you could move it over to Lynchburg but usually it is Blacksburg. Quote
Brian4618 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Is this meet up still going on, was looking forward to it but haven't heard much about a time or place, let me know. Quote
