im stuck in the atlanta suburbs by perimiter mall in Dekalb county.  I have tried finding decent fishing but every lake i find is private and surrounded by housing.  I have heard that Stone Mountain lake is pretty good but never tried it.  I was just wondering if anybody knew of any decent fishing nearby.

Stone Mountain is good but just a few miles farther out is Tribble Mill Park which is much better for big fish. Are you fishing from a boat or bank? If you have a canoe, kayak, or boat with an electric motor there are plenty of great options.

Black Shoals park has a great lake to fish from a boat with an elec motor and a few batteries. The avg bass seems to be in the 4 to 6 lb range there though it fishes a bit diff than most lakes in the area due to a lot of rocks. It also has lots of under water timber and some creeks coming in to it. I can get you in to a private lake in Loganville (it is where I caught the 8 punder on my profile pic) if you want to give it a try.  I also have the ability to get you on to Norris Lake which is south of Snellville.

I'm in the Dunwoody area also. Grew up in Sandy Springs. I'd be interested in hearing about some spots in the area as well. I agree that most of the spots I've tried have been private.

Let me know what you guys think. The lake in Loganville sounds cool.
